Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For those of you who don't know, Michi no Eki is actually a road station chain with thousands of road stations across the country. Usually, they are very big but this one is quite small. However, it has a neat eatery where you sit at a counter next to a window and have a wonderful view of the ocean. The restaurant has quite a wide variety of seafood dons. There is also a small fruit and vegetable market inside the gift shop which sells local delicacies.

Because I actually passed it twice by rental car while passing through Oita down the coastline. It is small, but it has a neat eatery where you sit at a counter next to a window and have a wonderful view of the ocean. The restaurant has quite a wide variety of seafood dons (raw seafood on rice). The area is known for maguro or white-fleshed fish marinated in shoyu sauce and layered over rice. Unfortunately, both times I was still full from buffet breakfast at my hotels so I didn't order anything. So bring a big appetite if you expect to visit this road station. It is located about 17 km from Oita City as you head towards the cape that juts out into the ocean before the coast turns south towards Saiki and Miyazaki much further down. You need to follow the coastline. The first time I bought some pankyo fried fish fillets which I ate later and they were delicious. There is a small fruit and vegetable market inside the gift shop which sells local delicacies.
