Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This tour was amazing. Carlo was an absolutely incredible host - very well informed and willing to answer all our questions. Learning about the history of karate and it’s influence was fascinating. The kaikan was the highlight for us. The local lunch was incredible as well

The tour was INCREDIBLE!!! Carlo went above and beyond to accommodate me. He made my trip to Okinawa fantastic!! I learned so much about the birthplace of Karate and saw so many incredible places and memorabilia. What a wonderful experience, mostly thanks to Carlo. You can tell he really cares about people and will do everything possible to make sure you have the most incredible experience. One of the best tours I’ve taken in my life and by far the best tour guide I’ve ever had up until now. Thank you again Carlo, I really appreciate what you did for me!!

I had a great experience. Carlo responded quick and scheduled a class for me at the Dohjo in Naha. Something I could not have done on my own. He guided me during the class, as I'm not provicient in Japanese and sometimes missed some details of the instructions. Luckily, Carlo has karate experience so he could give me some extra trips or translate what the sensei was saying. Alltogether, it was a memorable experience and highly recommend when you are in Okinawa!

Okinawa is the origin to establish KARATE culture and sports in the world. Karate Kaikan is very good facility to know overall of Okinawa Karate. You must visit once at least even though you are not interested in Karate because you could recognize how Karate is important culture for Okinawa. Also, Okinawa Craft Promotion Center just located to the next is very good place to know Okinawan Crafts and Arts Products. Not only to see, but you can also buy something good souvenirs in the shop.

A tremendous once in a lifetime experience not to be missed. We travelled as a large group to go and train and experience the birth place of karate. It was an honour to be part of and it did not disappoint. From the training to the guided tour of the island and history. The only point I would give to anybody making the trip is to get familiar with the opening times of some of the amenities but there will always be something available somewhere. Otherwise a truly great trip and I hope I'm lucky enough to return

If you are serious about your art why would you not do this?
A week of training in the birth place of karate with masters of their styles was incredible. We trained with Kakazu Sensei, Kinjo Sensei, Gima Sensei, Akamine Kaicho and Hokama Sensei and i took away so many things to benefit my own journey and training.
Kenny, Carlo & Kevin (and Nori) were excellent guides and companions and nothing was too much trouble whether training related or doing cultural activities such as the tours or eating and drinking (Age-uke!).
I doubt and really hope this was not a one off trip for me.
Thanks Ageshio, i hope to see you soon.

There are not enough words to be able to describe how phenomenal the last week has been in Okinawa karate training in all different styles including Shorin Ryu, Goju Ryu and Kobudo; all arranged by the wonderful Ageshio Japan team including Kenny, Carlo and Kevin!

Nothing was ever too much for them and everything was arranged brilliantly from the training sessions, sight seeing tours and being shown the REAL Okinawa world, taking us to local bars and experiencing the full culture, food and drinks.

Its a trip that will be forever remembered and it will, personally, hold a huge place in my heart.

Thank you Ageshio Japan - you are incredible.

What a week! First time in Okinawa and what a welcome. Kenny, carlo and Kevin were fantastic, friendly, funny and very welcoming. It was a full on week with training and site-seeing. From training with kakazu Sensei. (Shorinryu) to training with Kinjo Sensei & Gima Sensei at the Jundokan goju ryu. followed by Training Kobudo with Akamine Sensei! Who were all very kind and willing to teach with such passion and enthusiasm and so much knowledge and detail to take home. last session was of the week was with with Hokama Sensei goju ryu & kobudo and getting a gift with calligraphy. I cannot thank ageshio Japan enough for looking after us and giving us an incredible time along with the karate tour and southern island tour seeing the beautiful country. If it’s on your bucket list you won’t be disappointed. If you get the opportunity take it.

Wow, where do I start? Kenny was awesome at organizing things for me. I trained with Kakazu Sensei(Shorin ryu), Hokama Sensei(Goju ryu), Shimabukuro Sensei(Uechi ryu), and Kobudo with Akamine Sensei. The classes were over 2 hours each and worth every second! Carlo(my new friend) picked me up from my hotel, translated for me, and brought me back, sometimes stopping for lunch on the way. Kenny joined me for Kobudo practice and showed me some sai basics. The Karate History tour was very informative and I was taken to many monuments, Haka(tombs) of ancient masters, and Museums. Also to the Karate Kaikan, be sure not to miss your time there! Carlo is a great tour guide and answered all my questions and was a terrific traveling companion. Being a longstanding karateka in Shotokan karate, getting back to my deep roots was an honor and a privilege. Be sure to contact these guys when you visit Naha, Okinawa! I hope to return next year!
