Amazing experience. The boat brought us up Sungei Johor, it was beautiful and tranquil. When we saw the fireflies on the trees along the river, it was worth the trip. They looked like flickering lights on the trees and a few of them flew towards us. The trip took about 40mins, adult RM$20, child RM$12. Best to visit between 8pm - 10pm.

The whole experience was so different and very calming. You get to experience the darkness and stillness of night which we usually miss out in our daily lives full of hustle bustle. When the boat enters the calm waters and in the silence you see so many fireflies flickering, it is an amazing sight. They ask you to not use flash or phone light. The driver patiently stops and lets you enjoy the sight. Trip takes around 40 minutes and costs RM 20 per person (they only accept cash). If you are going on a non peak day, it would be better to call in advance and book or else they might not have staff available for boat ride. It is great activity for kids as well, as you get to see the magical flies up close. Best to visit after 8. They also have a small store next to ticket counter, where you can buy some local handmade stuff.

You can see lots of fireflies here, just like Christmas tree along the river bank. It is amazing and good for family with young kids. Highly recommended to people who love nature and animal.

Whole experience was fantastic! From transport pick up --> meet & greet by staffs upon arrival at firefly park --> keeping us occupied with the love lock and helped with photographs taking before the cruise as we reached early --> wrapped up with Sky Lantern!
Cruise tickets can be reserved and transportation can be arranged in advance [if needed] through whatsapp or Facebook messenger.
Car driver's service was good and journey was smooth and pleasant. Driver was very patient and shared places of interest with us. He even sent us to our dinner place after the firefly cruise, and willing to wait for us before sending us back to hotel.
Staffs at firefly park were great - friendly staffs and warm welcome from them. Helped with photo taking too.
Overall, very happy and satisfied with my maiden firefly cruise =)

Ask your Resort in Desaru to organize this trip for you, and you won't be disappointed. It was quite an experience to start at 8 pm from the hotel (in our case- Lotus Desaru Beach Resort), take a 45 min drive in a mini-bus and reach this place on a highway..
This is a ferry ride that lasts about 40 mins, where they take you into a very dark area with trees on either side, and all trees glowing with millions of fireflies! This place glows in pin drop silence, an experience you would not want to miss!!

This is something that I was really looking for, for the 7 kids that were on this trip with us. Out of gadget, relaxing, mesmerizing and an unforgettable learning journey. We chose the 7:30PM trip as advised. Be early as you get on the boat following a first come first serve numbering system. Although the admin was single handedly mend by just 1 person, we managed to all get on the boat on time. The kids (plus the mothers) were amazed by twinkling fireflies. The breeze was so fresh and we managed to see thousands of fireflies within our 45mins journey. We ended the trip with wishing lanterns. WonderFUN wrap! PS: Just an advice to give the boat a fresh coat of paint as it is looking very tired. :)

I have never seen so many fireflies..There were pretty small but everywhere.
The boatman was nice to stop by the trees that have more fireflies than others and caught a few for us to have closer look at them but they all flew away pretty quickly....
I did feel uneasy when the boatman kept checking on the engine though...
We took a Grab from Komtar and even though we hit the rush hours, it didn’t feel that far.
Thumb up for nature lovers...

Its a 45-60minute boat ride which brought us to see millions of fireflies along the river. The boat captain was good and the journey pleasant

FANTASTIC
BEST PLACE TO SEE FIREFLIES.
Most importantly, the operators are very very helpful. We booked for the 730pm boat but as we were running late, they allowed us to go onto the 830pm boat.
And while we were walking to the jetty, I dropped my Handphone into the swampy waters and I thought that it’s would be gone.
The operator told me to proceed with my boat trip while they will try to retrieve it.
I had very little hopes as the water was pretty deep.
When we returned , they actually miraculously managed to get my phone up but attaching 2 long bamboos and a net.
I was sooo grateful and wanted to offer a tip. They refused and just said it’s their job to make all customers leave with a positive experience. Soo heartwarming to know there are such tour operators around. Thank you very much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Singapore is an urban jungle, and I thought it would be nice for my kids (2 teens) to see fireflies since they have never seen them before. We had dinner at the KSL shopping mall in JB, and I drove on the E3 highway for just under an hour in rush hour traffic right to Kota Tinggi Firefly park. At first I was a little concerned that there wouldn’t be a proper road leading to the place, and imagined me with a flat tyre on a muddy track with no lights.... but now I can put it in this review that the place is just a couple hundred meters from the main road and well lighted. For those who may want to know as well, Pls look at the red arrow in the photo I submitted to see the street lights on the main road, and how near it is to the place.
Michelle, the lady who I whatsapped, helped to reserve boat tickets and answered any questions I had. Our family really enjoyed the whole firefly cruise experience. The boatman really manouvered the boat close to the trees at the edge of the river so that everyone seated on both sides of the boat could get a good view of the fireflies. It really was quite spectacular seeing some of the trees with so many fireflies that they were like blinking x’mas trees! It might have been brighter if it weren’t for the full moon that night though. Anyway, I think it was worth the drive up, and my family was happy. After the boat ride ended, we had supper in JB and managed to cross back into s’pore by 12am.

Not sure of restaurants nearby but the place isnt very far from Johor Bahru or Kota Tingii town so plenty of eating options

I whatsapped a lady named Michelle at 60-17-4607775. I had a couple of other questions to ask, and just made reservations at the same time, b’coz I read somewhere (think it was the FB pg) that you could do that. But maybe not necessary, we still bought and paid for our tickets upon arrival. Maybe they just want to know roughly how many people to expect on their boats. Enjoy ur trip!

Hello all...! I’m thinking of driving my kids to visit the KT firefly park. Never been there and unsure if the road leading in is a proper paved road or track? Is it safe? Is it far from the main road? Bit concerned in case we get a flat tyre or something.... Appreciate any information, thank you!
