With its more than 200 retailers, it offers a host of fashion, entertainment and restaurants. All catered to wow the senses and satisfy the needs. Rush in when the doors open at 10am for breakfast, then head out and start your shopping adventure of clothes, shoes, bags, trinklets, toiletries, electronic toys. Everything the heart desires. Unique to Johor Bahru City Square is the Inner City, an eclectic mix of smallish fashion and accessory shops plus restaurants housed in a tight, quaint setting. Always a firm favorite of the "NOW" generation. After many hours of shopping, rest the feet in one of the numerous restaurants and cafes or indulge in a soothing foot massage, then go on to treat the rest of the body at a salon.

Dec 2019
This mall is always very crowded on weekends with the hordes of visitors crossing from Singapore for cheaper items in Malaysia. We visited in Dec 2019, using the mall mainly as a conduit to get across to the Chinatown side. Arriving before 9:30am it was actually closed and we were forced to take a long detour. ON the way back it was open and absolutely jammed with people. If you are fortunate enough to have your own transport I would recommend considering other malls as this one is just too busy.

I was writing today to complain of the buckle sandals (Birkenstock Arizona- Mocha) I bought from Hen Tong Footwear Sdn Bhd located at Johor Bahru City Square on 27th April 2022, 12:20pm.

I remember clearly that the colour I had chosen is stone brown. But it happened in this way that the staff Norliyana Syahira had given me the Mocha brown colour. I was confused with both colours at the first look as they both look similar. But after I checked back the colour code online and find out the colour given to me is not that I want.

Enclosed here a copy of my bill and a picture of that sandals.

I look forward to your immediate reply and a resolution to my problem. I will wait until the end of next week (13 May) before seeking help from a consumer protection agency for investigation. Please contact me at soonghuilin@gmail.com or by phone at +65 82437269.

Thank you for your assistance.

Gave the auntie 50RM for a box of kueh that costs 13RM, she gave back 7RM change insisting that i gave her only 20RM.
I clearly remembered that I gave her 50RM cos I just changed my cash at the money changer and did not use it anywhere else until her stall. She insisted that I gave her 20RM, showed me the whole container with all the cash that there was no 50RM note.
Problem is that she did not use the cash register so there was no record.
Avoid this stall!!!

So much has been said on the shops, I can only concur that the quantity and quality of the shops are above average. This place is super convenient for it’s connection to JB Customs for Singaporean travel and it’s connection to JB Sentral, as the latter is just opposite. Shopping cannot get more convenient than that, especially since I arrived here from Melaka, which made it a great place to eat after a long trip. There’s so many great options for eating that I also had my brunch here before my onward journey to Singapore.

after cleareance from jb ciq ,it is a good place to stop over for a cup of coffee and have a good meal from some of chinese restarants in the mall. we can also proceed to top up our malaysia hotlink or digi phone card at the mall. when the phone card topup is completed we can go the maybank or uob to make a cash withdrawal from this two banks .Then we can proceed to the highest level where there is cinema showing a varieties of movies where we can enjoy and rest ourselves after a long queue from the ciq

This is the Number 2 attraction in JB after Legoland according to Trip Advisor. Right Next to it is another large mall Komtar which houses the Angry Birds theme park. It’s large and slick but nothing like the malls you see in Orchard Rd in Singapore in terms of crowds and the number of high end outlets. It’s worth a visit if you are in the area but I personally would not go out of my way to come here. There is a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf inside for the coffee lovers like me. And it is right next to the train station connecting JB to Singapore.

Location is great, walking distance from Johor customs. Many retail shops and food outlets in the shopping mall. Not far from Singapore, able to catch a movie at their cinema with CHEAP ticket

Come through the border and straight into a giant mall. Most refreshing after a long wait at immigration.

Great place to get some refreshment, top up on aircon, refresh in the restroom.

The usual shops you can find anywhere in Singapore and the food choices are not that great. But a good starting point for your forage further into the interior.

The money exchange shop does a good rate and very accessible. No need to panic about money.

This place has always been a favorite for me eversince i came to know about City Square, I would at least visit the mall twice every month.

Here i would like to share about the Hair Salon i went to last Sunday 02 Nov, it was the worst nigtmare and i do not want people to experience the same experience i did. Maybe it might sound corny for writing about this in Trip advisor but why not since people read my review.

The name of the Salon is PROTRIM and it is located at City Square Johor Bahru, it is nearby to the Immigration, I went with my sister n law to get my hair rebonded, colored and also cut since i have a long lock and i wish to get a pixie hair cut , things were smooth for the rebonding and coloring although it is a little bit weird when everything seems to be faster than usual, i did not complained, but soon when it come to getting my hair cut and having to warned the hairstylist thrice not to cut my hair wrongly , things did not go well with it. He is an unprofessional when it come to cutting short hair and he didn't even know what he was doing. So my hair was a BIG MESS! I am not kidding , he kept on using the trimming machine to cut my hair and as soon as i realised it was a disaster i snapped!

My hair was not only a MESS but ugly, and when i vent my anger on the guy , One of the lady in the salon came up to me and showed her anger on me. How could you get angry with an angry customer when it is clearly not my fault. It is my hair that is gone and i paid 336RM for this and yet all i get is UGLY HAIRSTYLE.

He walked away from me as soon as his colleague took over and here is the funny part, she not only got pissed off with me for being pissed off at him but she also trimmed my hair with the trimming machine angrily and hurt my ear and was being very rough towards me right from the beginning.

The morale of this comment here is not about the money i paid but it is about the customer service and how they actually handle angry customer like me. Not even a word of SORRY , they were very unapologetic and still charge me the same amount of money!

I wish no one has to go through the HELL that i have to go through from this SALON, i want people to know that it is better before you get a haircut ask whether do they know what they should do or have to do.

Learn from this bad experience and keep away from the SALON who only thinks MONEY but not customer relationship and satisfaction
