A quiet mall. Shops are sparse with the food court having a little more life.

Took a meal and picked up some t shirts.

If you like a little rest from the border ordeal and having somewhere to eat, this would be your place.

We spent the day travelling from Singapore to Johor Bahru and back to Singapore.
This was a great day and a great experience but the shops in Singapore are a lot better.
We didn't come here for cheap shopping but we did have a look around.
The prices didn't seem that cheap to us but we did buy one item.
The prices in some shops are in $Singapore and $Malaysia (Handy)
The highlight for us was Haagen Dazs and that was Excellent.

Located only next door to City Square Johor Bahru one tends to get an impression as you walk in from City Square to Komtar JBCC of a place much more classier. The ambience. the layout, the floor, the decor... it's different.

I must say, the MAIN PHOTO does not do this place any justice. This place it's actually quite porch. From Jalan Wong Ah Fook side or the Baguss Hotel side, it doesn't seem to state that this place is Komtar JBCC. The largest sigbboard is MetroJaya so I wasn't aware this was KOMTAR.

Also, growing up in Malaysia, the brand Komtar in my mind is positioned as one of those old, yesteryear, backwater shopping centers. I didn't even realize Komtar was around. So when I saw that it was ranked top 10 of the things to do in JB, even exceeding Terbau's AEON, I thought, wow... really?

And it really is. I was impressed. Even the people that walk in here or patronize this place at least at the ground level seem a little more up-market.

There is a Marks & Spencer here, though I will say that it is not comparable to the one in One Utama. Slightly smaller, they have less variety. For example I was looking for men's deodorant (Harvard brand) but found no such section. (Though there was a tiny version of it in a box set at the cashier counter). There is the food section though, where they sell their cookies and butters and jams... that was actually quite pack.

I had a take-away dinner from O'Briens which is located on the ground floor, fantastic service, they were friendly and of course the sandwiches there are fresh and tasty.

I managed to purchase a tie for my brother who was asking for a white tie at Metrojaya and while there I also purchased some office wear shirts, so if you are looking for those, this place has a good selection.

I think what makes this place known is the Angry Birds theme park located on the third floor of the building. It seems kind of pricey so I chose not to go in and review the place (As it is listed as one of the top things to do in JB), as it is also more applicable for parents with young children.

There is also a "Driving School" as you are coming down from the third floor near the Angry Bird theme park entrance. It's basically for kids to drive around the designated area.

It is great to have such a shopping complex with a departmental store like Metrojaya just across the Singapore causeway, conveniently located! It houses quite a number of designer labels and the more affordable brands

Popular brands like Sephora or Kiels are there along w cafes Obriens and donuts which are all well loved by Singaporeans

Many F&B outlets like recipe, with an angrybird park for the kids or family with children...
From the cheaper range items like Daiso (from jp), it also has an ok-foodcourt, this complex is very spacious and comfortable

My only wish is for Metrojaya to improve - while it houses a dept for living and décor, it should provide more choices of cutlery like chopsticks and place mats etc , other than that it has some unique brands like Bb vinition which are not too bad , in terms of towels and festive décor, eg christmasy ones, you are definitely spoilt in this dept store

Adds to the variety of shops and brands that is on offer at JB City Square, and conveniently connected to the link bridge to KTM, and Immigration.

The mall has a Grab Car drop-off / pick-up point that is an added convenience for those using the service.

On arrival at Kranji mrt, we crossed the overhead bridge to take 170A to the train checkpoint instead as the queue at Kranji mrt was very long and bus 170 and 170x (which stop at Woodland checkpoint at the departure hall) were packed. On the other hand bus 170A was relatively empty but requires walking through the custom building which has signs to guide one eventually to the departure hall.
I have travelled to Johor Bahru twice recently and my journey times starting at the Singapore checkpoint was 9.30 am and arrived in Johor custom at 10.20 am and 9.30am to 10.10 am. Friends who started later took about 2 hours to cross over.

There are popular stores here such as Padini, Metrojaya, G2000, Marks and Spencer, Diaso etc. There is a food court on the upper level beside the supermarket. The ambience here is good for a coffee break.

We met two metered taxi-drivers who are brothers and they fetched us to another place for lunch. After shopping, we left at 6 pm and surprisingly the bus sped through the Causeway without any jam. We took CW5 ($3.10 each) bus back to Newton. Journey was smooth and fast. Can message me for taxi driver’s mobile number. They are very friendly, helpful, reliable and informative.

Visited on 11/10/2016 with friends. Went to Daiso,Padini Concept store, F.O.S.Apperal. Will visit H&M,Victoria Secret,Body & Bath,etc...

Daiso, forget on which level as led by my friend, she is very familiar with City Square n here. Daiso everything is RM5.30 each. Brought many Japanese tisbits but must check its expire date.

F.O.S. prices range are not that expensive. 3 for RM49 basic tee shirt,2 for RM69 tops/dresses. Dress RM45,Socks RM19 for 3pairs or RM19 for 4pairs. There r handbags,sunglasses,kids wear too.

Padini, brought RM59.90 dress with white tee. It do have many brands too,for example Seed, its fibre quality n design is good but price a bit higher.

Overall, liked this mall as it has many branded stores under one roof.

A brand new mall just next to City Square. Numerous new shops can be found in the mall. Brands like New Balance, Adidas, the Stadium, Metrojaya, Starbucks, Coffee Beans, are just some of the brands you can find.

Step into the mall and doesnt feel like being in Johor Baru.

Feels like Singapore, and the stores are all very familliar example, Swensens, Thai Express.

The mall arrangement is not bad, most of restaurants are located together.
