The old palace of the Sultan has been re-purposed and made into a nice museum showing the history of the state and a glimpse of the life of the Royals of old. It is located accross the main square with plenty of parking and the handicraft museum is just across the side street. Do visit the palace to learn more... More

Interesting artefact on display, conveniently located in the heart of Kota Bahru. Parking may be a bit of a problem especially during school and public holidays as it is also near the famous Pasar Siti Khadijah

The building is well maintained, very cheap entry fee of RM 2. Good to spend 30-60 mins visiting the place, see the Royal King items and weapon.

This old palace was still using during the formal royal ceremony. Khususnya semasa pertabalan Raja dan Sultan.

Visitors can see the traditional culture and values system of the Kelantanese from this aftifacts. The location of Istana Jahar itself is historical - once the administrative centre of Kelantan in Kota Bharu.

This is a very good museum insofar as it details the royal life from marriage to the circumcision. There is the marriage room, reception room, pregnancy room, all diplayed as if the Queen or Princess is about to deliver. Excellent

Good turn of the century wooden palace. Smallish but gives you a good feel of how life once was like in a by-gone era
