We did the trans jerging hike this time. Starting at G Siku trailhead heading to G Irau and then to Yellow pass and exit. About 20-25km. Took almost 15 hours longest hike in my life and in darkness. View and journey was great. Maybe to split this into 2 hikes in future. 1 water point right after G Siku and then its all work. Bring a lightweight jacket as chilly during hike and will be useful is rain comes. Bring another new t-shirt or jacket for end of journey if you going to be stationary as its really cold in the late evening.

some say the trail was 18km but i got 32km on my GPS. Stars at G Siku, Kem Bear, G Irau, Secret Garden and Gunung Pass right before you exit. Quick hikers took 10 hours, i took 14/15 hours so we were out like 1030pm. Painful as hell and torturing to the max but the view and trail is to die for.

You can drive to Mossy Forrest A short safe waking tour on the mountain in the raining forest. But the entrance to Gunung Irau tour is closed. Ensure to use a 4WD to drive up there!

It is a cool, misty forest with stunning views of the moss covered trees and extremely spread out roots. The roots and branches are right out of an enchanted fairytale book but they are both a curse and boon. Boon because you can hold them at every step to jump and crawl through the forest, but a curse because their weird shapes make it inevitable to not fall and get bruised. It is a moderately tough hike not because of the ascent, but because of the slippery moist nature of the forest. You need to get permit along with mossy forest entrance fees at the start of mossy forest boardwalk. After that it is easily a 3-4 hr one-way hike with several descents and ascent across the hike. Be prepared to get wet, muddy and bruised. Officially the hike is closed after mini-Irau and lot of guides there discourage you to go further up to Irau but you can join some guided group and pay them to continue. All in all a tiring but beautiful day.
