More to see now

The last time I was up in Pg Hill, I was there for a short time only. There wasn't much to do and see then. Now there are lots more to do and see. The habitat is one.

Come early morning or later take the fast line-just bear on mind that it cost double. We were there at 9.30am and it took us 10minutes to get to the funicular.Wonderful views at the top. You can walk from there to the botanic garden approximately 1.5h

Georgetown is surrounded by water and green hills. The hills are called Penang Hill, in Malay Bukit Bendera, and the highest point is Flagstaff Hill, 833 metres above sea level. Therefor the temperature here is lower than by the sea and the wind is fresh. When the British made Georgetown a trade station they realized this and the hill became... More

Great views of the island, a lovely temple and a mosque and very descent food at great prices! Even though we got caught in the rain, there were plenty of things to do until the storm passed!

I really enjoyed my time atop Penang Hill, great ride up on the cable car, the vista was spectacular. Be careful of rush hour on the cable car back down, you could be in line waiting some time.

Not to be missed on a visit to Penang. That said, I wish we had gone on a weekday ( less crowded), and a sunnier day for better visibility. Still a unique experience that really gives you a feel for the unusual climate and geography of Penang. The extra $ is well worth it to take the fast lane and... More

Safety is quite questionable when you take the train up & down the hill. They seem to jam-packed everyone inside, making it so hard to stand and breathe, really horrible! Luckily the train is quite speedy. Otherwise, we could have passed out. So, take the train at your own risk. Pray hard that all goes well and smooth.

There was simple disarray at the entrance. There was no order, no basic queue system. Nobody knew where they were going. After a good 15 minutes of 'queuing' the security guard told us to go into a separate queue. When we finally managed to buy our tickets we joined another queue. This was very deceiving. After queuing a good hour... More

Penang Hill is well worth a visit. It is quite expensive to get to the top on the funicular railway. There are some very tacky things at the top and an over priced restaurant but the trip is still worth it. Best time to go would be around 4.30pm to stay up there and enjoy a daylight view followed by... More

The crowd was very heavy when taking the tram to the top of Penang hill but the view and the experience was well worth the congestion. The view is spectacular with a great view of Georgetown and of Butterworth across the Penang Strait. There is much to see at the summit and one can spend a good part of a... More
