What an incredible collection of cameras! Fantastic little museum hidden away in a shop house. Given a guided tour by a very enthusiastic lady. She had such knowledge about the different types of camera and the history of the development. Made sure we made the most of the visit by showing us how to use some of the older models. Tickled pink that they had an Olympus Trip 35 from the 70s which I used for all my early travels. Museum well worth half an hour of anyone,s time.

This is an unusual museum all about photography from beginning to modern times. The entrance fee includes a guide who will take you through the processes involved in professional photography. The guide will also show the old school way of touching up photos back in the days before photoshop and editing too that can be done easily on even your phones. An honourable mention also goes to the mock-up of a dark room where I got another great explanation of how this worked.
I do not consider myself a photography enthusiast, but I found myself captivated by the passionate narrative and sheer enthusiasm of the guide. A fantastic visit and well worth the small entrance fee. I wish all museums had guides this interested in their exhibitions.

Been there once and was amazed by those vintage cameras and a friendly guide. Although they were old but still functional and when you touch it, the shutter sound thrill you to the max. I'll give my 1st visit a thumb UP but not the second.
Due to the unforgettable experience of the 1st and felt like having 1 more round touring the museum as my last visit was quite rush, visited for the 2nd time with my friend hoping for a more experience guide to guide us but this trip was totally different from the first.
Despite being welcomed, we was given the glare full of suspicion by the guide and were questioned like in the cops' movie. Felt strange at first and at last we came to realize that they thought we're spy or fanatics from the other camera museum and were there for some "purpose". However, we kept the uncomfortable feeling inside since we're there to have fun as we're enjoying our day off.
In spite of the type of explanations which we hope to be given, the whole session was like a debate. Hahaha. Every question we asked to know more about cameras, was given perfunctory ans like "we shouldn't ask such a question". The replied and response given for everything we said during the tour make us uncomfortable and at one time we felt like keeping silence and hope that the guided tour ends ASAP. More, for several times we're told and asked about the differences between the 2 cams' museums.
We've been to a few tourists spots and this is the first time in life we felt so much uncomfortable and disappointment. We were like other tourists just hoping to have a worth and enjoyable tour for the ticket price we paid.....Haizzzzzzzzzzzzz

Brought my relatives from HongKong and they wantes to visit camera museum after seeing some episode on Asian Food Channel.
We arrived at the place that seems like a Canon retail shop and asked the staff if this is the museum featured on AFC and they said yes.
But my uncle insisted its not as what they seen on the tv program but we were convinced after the staffs told us that it was moved to this location.
We spent about 20min before decided to leave. Each paid a discounted ticket of rm10. Its basically filled with alot of old cameras and their descriptions.
Later in the evening while we were visiting the cat cafe at georgetown muntri street. We realized the featured Camera Museum was right beside.
We end up taking alot of pictures in that camera museum, and bought alot of the merchandises. After realizing from the lady manager there that this is the first camera museum, we were dissapointed that the misleading info from the dishonest staff at Asia Camera Museum.
We end up didnt visit the real camera museum upstairs as our timing is limited.
My advice: get your info right before making travel plans.

located inside a canon shop, i don't think this fits to call an museum and it's misleading. although we find the collection to be amazing but i've seen these at the roadside market back in home Bangkok silom market too.
we didn't say much to the guy that's introducing us the small tour but for we got a discount at RM10 hence we won't complain much, i saw another couple of arab were cursing at the rm20 they paid, maybe they didn't ask for the discount that they supposed to.
overall, a place that u can skip. i do hope the museum improve on design and atmosphere.. sorry but i myself love culture and heritages.

We were guided by Steven Tan in the museum tour. Steven did a fantastic job helping us understand the history of photography and the evolution through the centuries. I am particularly interested in the the Siao Seong shop display and the darkroom setup. Good to talk to Steven who is someone who knows photography and has passion in the craft. This is a must visit for anyone who is a true photographer!

We tend to forget how far the basic camera has come. This museum takes you back through the entire history of the camera. It gives you a glimpse of the era where you had to edit and process photos by hand. They have a dark room as well and explain the entire process in detail. There are a variety of old cameras and projectors on display, This is great museum and I would definitely recommend checking it out if you have the time.

We stumbled on this Museum on one of our walks home. The guided tour was part of the admission and very informative.

I liked this museum. The cameras were well displayed and contained a lot of information as well. It's a small museum and a bit pricey, but I think it is is still worth a visit.

So sorry to inform that you must be wrote for the wrong museum, Asia Camera Museum is located at Burma road, not muntri street. I believe that the one you have been visit must be "The" camera museum, which is a smaller one.
Regards,
a. t.
