- wx h3 contributionsUpside down PHOTOBOOTHthe setup is really detailed and cool, i can tell that a lot of effort has been placed into ensuring the museum resembles a room. but it's such a pity that there is absolutely no time to admire those as the experience was a rush. the museum didn't feel like a museum experience. it was more of a photo taking spot where you have about less than a minute to have your photos taken by the staff before proceeding to the next segment. there is barely time to register where you're or what you're posing for. the layout is really tight too so you'll constantly be in the way of other's photos. most of the staff are good at taking photos though, which is what you're paying rm36 for.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 23 February 2024
- KoalaBouySingapore, Singapore167 contributionsFor some fun with family or friends, good for a 1 time visitGreat place for a 1-time visit for families with young kids. Staff would generally guide the participants where to stand and how to post, and helps out with taking pictures on the cameras. High priced though and snot all staff are nice and friendly.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 23 May 2024
- Abovetheclouds2,240 contributionsIf you have time but not a must.I had a lot of time so I went. Put it this way, more expensive to enter than other museums. You don't learn anything. It is just fun. The staff are pleasant and friendly. They will tell you how to pose and then take the photographs. Small, so you are done within half an hour. Be prepared to stretch your body! Felt like a pilates class! You need to remove footwear before entering but there are secure lockers. Some people were going and not taking any photographs. It is pointless then to go. You need to be prepared to have fun and pose! I don't have children but there was a family with children behind me who were just getting bored and running around! I am not that sure if it is a suitable place for children. If you have time but don't put this high on your list.Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten 25 August 2024
- Mike DHua Hin, Thailand643 contributionsHand them your phone, not your camera!A spot to get some interesting photos. Multiple rooms setup to make the photos appear as if you are standing on the ceilings or walls. Two to three staff members are waiting at each photo spot, they will direct you on where to stand and how to pose. I always carry a real camera with me and I handed it over to the person who would be taking the photos in that location. This was a bit of a mistake, even though I set up the camera, at least one staff member started changing the settings. If you also have a camera, do yourself a favor and just handover your phone to the staff and put your camera away, you will probably get better results in the end.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 September 2024

It's got a nice concept and set with fun-filled, colourful, whimsical, delightful & playful. We were the only group there.
They had assistants who will help you to pose and take pictures/videos for you. The illusion is when you flip the photos upside down to make it looks like you're the wrong way up.
There is no free time for you to have a tour or have a look, the only thing you can do is doing weird postures.
It will be nice if the hygiene for the place can be improved, they didn't allow people to wear shoes inside and it's understandable, but the place is still dirty and smelly despite that.
Entrance fee for local is slightly expensive, not really worthy. If you are a photoholic, may be you like this place, otherwise you can enjoy the street art, it's pretty than this and is free for everyone.

Good help from the museum assistants to take photo for each of the location. They know how to get the right angle to capture the photo. The only thing is that if there are many tourists, then the time spent at each photo location will be shorter as those tourists will come in batch by batch.
Strongly to suggest to visit the museum as early as 9.30am when the museum just opens for business. That time we can have longer time to take photo at each location inside the museum.

What a disappointment this is.
If you think you can get through the 'museum' on your own, you're in for a rude awakening. We were rammed through the museum by the staff, and you only get the opportunity to take pictures, not discover anything or really see anything from the upside down. It's all about taking the photo and you're not even allowed to take it yourself. They do everything, including determining the poses... we had sweat on our backs from walking from place to place.
Even the kids didn't like it.

The place is small but nice. I just think that they need a better location, somewhere more accessible. Tip to have good photos; ask assistance. They would tell you how to properly pose per spot. 450 pesos entrance fee is not bad considering that there is no time limit.

Although the sets are nice we didn't quite enjoyed the experience. We had to keep moving, had no time to actually watch the nice sets, they asked us for the camera and told us where to stand and how. We didn't feel free to actually enjoy and experience.

Nice exhibits but one can tell where some are really old and need a face-lift like the snooker table room...looks run down. Like everything else things do get worn out but they need refreshing or new leash of life.
Avoid weekends can imagine the number of people jammed in as everyone desperately tries to have their posed pictures taken. Then there are those time wasters who have decided to linger on longer than is allowed just to take more pictures hence causing the backlog. As a visitor this one visit is enough ..not keen to join the crowd in a small contained environment.

Ticket is 36rm. They will help you take photo with a supply chain of getting u to move to each station as there will be people behind. Not worth it as there always the bored staff that just want you to take standard photo or video. Only the uncle is more pro but he is probably the boss.
If you have kids, then this is a good place to entertain your kid for 30 mins

A must visit place if you are in Penang, guys ! My friends and I had a great experience in the museum since all the things were upside down. Service provided here was awesome and the staffs were really friendly. They taught us how to give a pose and also took pictures for us. Reasonable entrance fee and definitely it will be a wonderful experience if you go with friends ...

I visited yesterday(10-Feb-2019, 12PM)
The staff dropped my phone in the process of taking pictures with my phone. (My phone is an iPhone 8+ and I do not wear a case, but I have a protective film on it.) After he said he was sorry, he continued taking pictures and I continued the museum schedule.
After he lightly apologized and photographed, I thought that only the protective cover would be broken. But later, when I remove the cover, my phone screen was broken.!!!
In your system, Staffs can inadvertently drop guest’s phone. Is there a way to get rewarded?
Written 10 February 2019
I suggest that you inform the museum‘s management as soon as possible. Just hope that their insurance covers such mishaps. On the other hand, it is advisable to put a protective casing around your iPhone in order to avoid such mishaps in future. Wishing you the best of luck!

I doubt it. This is Malaysia but no harm asking. In fact it would be noble for Upside Down Museum to compensate you.

Hi I am doing a short stopover of about 5 hours in Penang due to the cruise itinerary. I’m wondering how long should I set aside for the upside down museum? Thank you
Written 15 December 2018
2 hours would be good. After the 3d museum and the upside down and there are the narrow streets. Also theres the street arts. Tyou wouldn't feel the town unless you walk through them.

Hello ..
I would love to visit the museum.
Do you he a tour which includes the museum .
Thanks.
Cheers ,
Doreen
Written 19 October 2016
Most day tours do not include this. But the museum is conveniently located in town by taxi or public bus, and takes about 30 mins (max 45) to go through it. perhaps you can go by yourself.
Written 17 November 2016
The museum is open from 9am to 6pm and the admission fees for adult is RM27 for non Malaysian and RM16 for Malaysian. Children (age 5 to 12) - RM16 for non Malaysian and RM8 for Malaysian.
Would advise to visit as early as possible because they only allowed a number of people inside the museum at one time.
