The biggest masjid in Malaysia which is less than 1 hour drive away from KL. It is very clean, stunning, amazing Islamic architecture, beautiful viewpoints, and very big. This is a must visit if you are staying in KL. Personally think this Blue Mosque is better than the one in Istanbul.

The guide was very gentle with us all and very knowledgeable. Additionally, he had a great sense of humor. There is simply a contribution box if you would want to support the upkeep of this mosque, but admission is free. The mosque's architecture and blue dome make it incredibly lovely.

Being the largest mosque on Malaysia, distinguishable by its prominent blue and silver finishings, we decided to make a quick photo stop.
We were greeted with a very peaceful and zen vibe. Makes a nice stroll on the weekend. But it can get pretty warm during midday. Carpark lots are a plenty. Overall, worth a visit.

Worth to visit if you love to take pictures for checking in. The blue mosque is very beautiful and unique to be visited even we're not entering it.

This is the state mosque (masjid) of Selangor, Malaysia. It is also known as Masjid Negeri Shah Alam, which is Malaysia's largest mosque.
The mosque is very popular with foreign tourists and visitors.
Today (12 July 2019), just before the Friday congregation prayer, I asked an official regarding the visitation hours.
He explained that the mosque is open daily for visitation from both local and foreign visitors. Guides are available to take them around the mosque.
The ladies are politely requested to be properly attired and the mosque provides the attire, if required.

While exploring KL, you should also Explore Selangor further by paying a visit in Shah Alam. One of Shah Alam's tourist spot is the grand blue mosque as they call or the Shah Alam Mosque. Formally known as the Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. Shah Alam is the capital of the state of Selangor, where the federal territory Kuala Lumpur is also located.
I was amazed by seeing the majestic blue dome from afar and when I entered the facility, I though there's peace. The dome's inner curve has Arabic calligraphy on it. Take note that there is an entrance specified for non-Muslims and visitors. Proper etiquette like proper outfit and removal of shoes before entering the mosque have to be followed.
To go there, you take KTM Komuter and alight from the Shah Alam stesen. From there, teksis are awaiting. I had a negative encounter in my walk from the Mosque to the Shah Alam city center so I advise a little caution. Generally the area is safe and there are a lot of photo taking opportunities not only in the Selangor's state mosque but also nearby park and city center.

Being a second visit to Selangor area, there was no way l wouldn't have visited this landmark. My visit was not for religious reason yet l found the joy of seeing different construction themes. The blue top is so inviting and if you appreciate architecture, this is one place to be.

The "Blue Mosque" of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque is claimed to have the largest mosque dome and has the tallest mosque minaret in the world. At capacity, the mosque accommodates 16,000 and expanded up to 24,000 at one time. It's on 14.6 hectre property surrounded by lake & serene landscape. The architecture is interesting mixed influence of Malay, Indian, Middle East & Western.
Visitors must follow certain etiquette (as normal to any religious attractions):
-Men & women must be fully clothed/ dressed, women to wear head-scarfs.
-Observe silence/ communicate softly so as not to disturb people having their praying.
-Women having period are forbidden to enter the mosque.
Maybe a good idea to pray a wish:
- Upon entering any mosque: Dear Allah, please open for me the doors to Your blessings.
- Upon exiting any mosque: Dear Allah, I really wish for abundance of Your blessings.
Take your time and enjoy the architecture and the silence. Any i suggest you spend a while sitting and feel the ambiance, after all a mosque is a praying house.
Have fun visiting the 'Blue Mosque" !

Yes, you can. But you cannot bring stroller inside the mosque. You can put the stroller at the tourist entrance.

Where is the best place to be for Eidul Adgha in Malasia
Written 19 July 2016
InshaAllah, God Will.. this 12th September we will hold an event Eid Adha at Blue Mosque,Shah Alam and tourists also can see how Muslim manage a halal food with slaughtering about 23 cows. Save the date and see with your own eyes. You can also hear the scientific reason behind this step of slaughtering "sacrifice animal".

I would like to take some non-Muslims relatives to see th e mosque n when is the best time to take them around. They are leaving back to europe tomorrow.

Just get to the main entrance, ask for the assistance/guide from the security guys (in uniform) and I am pretty sure they will help you. You might be restricted from entering the main praying hall (due to certain reason).... Oh ya, you need to follow some basic attire rules (especially for women as you need to cover certain parts of your body & head/hair... don't worry - they will provide it ) You are most welcome, friends!!

I am planning to visit this wonderful area on July.I will be combining both the mosque and I city in half day and I will be coming with my family (3 adults and 4 seniors)from kl sentral.
Plz help me
1 Whether I should take the train to shah alam and then bus or...
2 How do I get to I city from Blue mosque
3 After the visit which is the best and economical way to reach kl sentral
Plz advice
Thanks

Hi Ajith,
Are you still coming to Shah Alam? If yes. Welcome :).
I will suggest you few options for transportation assuming that you will depart from KL Sentral
1. Take KTM Commuter to Padang Jawa Station (RM2.90/adult/one way), then take taxi (maximum 4 adults/taxi) to the Sultan Salahuddin Mosque. You may want the taxi driver to wait since tgere is no other public transport in that area, or you will have to walk to Plaza Shah Alam (approx. 500m) to get new taxi. Then with taxi, go to I-City. Last train from Padang Jawa to KL Sentral is around 10.50pm (not very sure). You will need taxi from I-City to Padang Jawa Station. One way taxi normally costs RM12.
2. From KL Sentral, take bus U80, to Section 2, Shah Alam. Ticket around rm3/adult/one way. From Section 2, take taxi with similar planning as in number 1 above.
I hope this will help.
Akidah.
