Take a short stroll into the history of a bygone era. Savor the views, the breeze, the smiles, the art...

One can stroll along the top of the ramparts at Essaouira but for a totally different experience altogether go rock hopping beneath the citadels ancient walls. The rocks are pockmarked like giants pumice Stones with here & there dotted little pools left behind after the...More

When I visited in March 2018, part of the rampart were under repair. But the visit is worthwhile as it offers views towards the harbour and sea and also over some of the roof tops

It was a short walk from where we stayed. Historical. Relaxing and not rushed. Several places, stalls, to eat freshly prepared sea foods of your choice. We did not eat there but seemed quite popular. Good to see traditional fishing boats, bringing fish on shore....More

Really loved this place with old boats and local fisherman going about their business. The ramparts are a great backdrop for pictures. Some interesting stalls selling their catches. A definite must see.

This is a must visit area, particularly in the morning, when the boats are returning with their catch of the day. The wonderful array of fishing boats, large and small, with all the mix of blue coloured paints. Great opportunity for some wonderful photos
