You learn a lot about the desert and the little creatures, which live here. And the guide, Chris Nel, is the best guide, we ever had! He and his helpers find animals, you would never find alone, and you discover the "little 5" of the Namib Desert. The best tour ever! You will be thrilled!

This tour is an absolute must when you visit this area. We booked the tour through Carleys and had Nic as a tour guide whilst Johnny and Ernest looked out for the living creatures! They all did their utmost to make the tour interesting and find the inhabitants of the desert we were after! Nic spoke in a very understandable... More

To explore Swakopmund one need about 10 days, but we tried our best to see it all in 4 days. We went on numerous desert adventures and were astonished by the humor and knowledge of the guides.

This is an awesome tour. It is amazing what you will see that you never would have suspected was in the sand. Our 2 year old did great as well.

It was amazing! We could never imagine this is "hidden" in the dunes. A nice trip for young and old. Best wishes Sandy ;)

We recently participated in the Living Desert Adventures tour, which we found to be an informative, educational and particularly enjoyable way to spend a few morning hours during our time in Swakopmund. Our tour was reserved well in advance and included two vans with 8 passengers each and two guides. We were collected from our hotel and dropped off after... More

I wasn't expecting too much from this tour and what a surprise! A very interesting and informative afternoon was spent with Douglas and his crew. They are obviously passionate about the desert and its animals and plants. The things they could find were amazing and then their explanations about everything they showed us were incredible. Turned what I thought was... More

We were surprised that the desert could be accessed so close to Swakopmund. Proper red dunes after a half hour drive. The scenery is breathtaking and the tour was very informative. Our guide found lots of lizards, chameleons, birds and snakes to show the kids. They absolutely loved it - almost as much as running up and down the dunes.... More
