We were staying at the Strand Hotel only 2 mins away from the Museum and we popped in for a short visit but ended up staying much longer as it was so interesting.

This museum has tons of information on Swakopmund, both its natural characteristics and the development of the town. It's got tons of information on the animals and plant life in the region and several older artifacts from the history of the town, including vehicles, printing...More

Really cool museum with a lot of interesting and different exhibits! It covers the history, culture, nature, geology and much more of Namibia in a very entertaining way. Absolutely must see, even if you're in Swakopmund only for the action.

Great place to spend a couple hours at. Its a quaint place with bits and pieces of Namibian history, put together quite haphazardly. Some artifacts were well curated and others less so. Place could do with a little makeover and clearer layouts to maximize the...More

We spent hours looking around this eclectic collection of stuff - like poking thru your grandmothers attic, but with explanations. Manages to walk the tightrope between the masses of info from white settlers and the small amount from the native tribes.

We only popped into this museum as we had an hour to spare, but wished we'd been able to stay longer. The museum offers a fascinating insight into the local human and natural history of the area, all very nicely presented. There was an interesting...More

It is not expensive. The exhibition was put together with lots of love for Namibia and Namibians. It i located at the Mole, a little beach with a nice little promenade, I liked it.
