What an amazing adventure we had as us family .
The hostess is an amazing knowledgeable lady who really goes out of her way to make it a special treat .

I can’t recommend going to the farm more ! It’s lovely as it is a little out of swakop and watching the change in nature and beauty is breathtaking . It truly is an oasis .the little “extra” drive is really worthwhile .

A few camels gathered together they did not look good, not in good shape full of scars. The owner had attitude and was only interested if you wanted to pay for a ride which, was over priced for 20 minutes. Left feeling we had wasted our time and petrol. Would not recommend to anyone. Rather go to Desert Adventures.

Camel rides at this farm cost N$150 for twenty minutes. The owner was very engaging and understood that travelers want pictures, and ensured we get lots of them. The camel ride was overall a good experience.

This attraction may not be for everyone, but we loved it. It's located about 12 km outside Swatkopmund on the D1901 (turn right off the B2 highway heading toward Windhoek. The gravel road is unmarked and it's NOT the gravel road to the golf course. It's the other one). We visited not to ride the camels, but just to see them and pet them. (Rides are available for adults and children). There are 6-8 camels in a corral and they are very interested in you being there to visit them. They came right over to the fence to see what we were doing. They are so tame that you can pet them. One especially liked its head and neck scratched. The friendly owner, a German woman named Elke Erb, showed us around her little farm which, in addition to the camels, included ducks, chickens, geese, a nice doggie, a kitty cat, a very pretty desert cactus garden in front, and even some olive trees in the back. The small colorful house looks like it belongs in Italy, not Namibia. She brought out a special treat the camels love -- Mexican string beans. Feeding the camels their favorite treat was a lot of fun. We left a donation on the way out. If the weather is overcast and chilly in Swatkopmund (as it often is), then drive a few kilometers into the desert and the sun will almost surely be shining. It was cloudy and 16 C. in Swatkopmund when we left in the early afternoon and 35 C. at the Camel Farm with nothing but sun and blue sky.

I had written ahead and booked our ride. When we arrived, a little unsure if we were in the right place, since the government had removed all the road signs, Elke assured us that we were.

Elke, the owner was so much fun to talk to and we enjoyed seeing what other animals she had on the farm. The headgear she dresses you up in adds to the experience, making it all a little more fun than the commercialized camel rides they have in town. The ride isn't long, but long enough to get the feel and make it memorable. Will definitely return and would love to take Elke to lunch to hear more about her life and history in Namibia, she made the camel ride and opportunity to chat with her a very special stop during our trip. I hope people take the time to drive a short distance from the town center and support her and her camels, she is a small local business worth supporting.

A 20 minute ride will cost you N$150. We had very nice camel riders scarfs and the owner, had a mini photo shoot for us before we climbed onto the camels.

Always wanted to do this for a long time & was glad to do it at such affordability.

The camels are very disciplined. Always on track and listen to the guide . My friends & I love capturing each moment & I was glad when the guide & the owner took us loads of pics!

The owner was so nice & had a well weird sense of humor. Like when we got there we asked her, where does the ride go to, and she replied "Egypt of course" 😂🐪

Riding a camel has always been on my bucket list and I managed to tick it off a the Swakopmund Camel farm. The farm is about 12 Kms outside Swakopmund. We got there and upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly face and the camels were prepared for us. It truly was a great experience and I would recommend this particular place if you are ever in Swakopmund.

after already riding camels at desert explorers , we brought our daughter here for a camel ride . we thought it was cheaper than desert explorers but it was not. if you want to ride on flat ground and not the dunes pick this place.
the owner is nice and she provides head scarfs for your ride. looks lovely in the pics
