Needs to have trash receptacles and signaling. Not easy access if you are not part of a tour and I have never seen Quetzales. Great work out and experience and can branch out to other experiences such as zip lining and the waterfalls.

We started this trip in Cerro Punto and walked all the way across to Boquete with a guide. First we walked for like 90 minutes on a steep uphill road, which was the hardest part. However it did have a very nice open view and...More

Since we did not have too many days left we decided to do the hike from David and not spend the night in Boquete. We took an early bus (6am, 3h) from David to Cerro Punta. Although many have described the kilometers to the entrance...More

I did enjoy the trail even though I must say that I did only half of it from Boquete and back there. I am glad I took a guide because with the car he took us close enough to the trail entry so we could...More

Because I'm a woman, and a couple of town of Boquete people suggested I didn't hike alone (there is the very recent and tragic incident of the two Dutch young women who got lost and died while hiking in the area), I was unsure if...More

If you need a great guide to take you around the Boquete area, you should call Joshue Almengor! He knows so much about the areas and helps you get around. Not only at the Quetzales trail.

We got a good work out hiking up and down on this wide, stony path. Not sure why the quetzals and tocans did not do a show for us. The ram in a pasture did his best vocals to amuse us. The trip up to...More

Amazing all day hike from Boquette to Cerro Punta through pristine cloud forest. We were lucky on a cloudless day and only saw 6 other people on our 7 hour uphill hike. No quetzals spotted but we heard them. Carry lots of food and stay...More

Having hiked some of the best trails in the world, I would rate this as a very good hike. However, it could easily be an excellent hike for many. We hiked from the Boquete end after parking our car at the ranger station. We paid...More

This is a long out and back (4 hours each way) trail up in the cloud forest at the top of the mountains, and then down into a beautiful rain forest. I heard a lot of birds, but unfortunately, I could never spot the mysterious...More
