This was our highlight of our trip to Bocas. Zapatilla island has beautiful clear water, there's not a lot of people in the island since they only take tourists out there on tours to see it. We took a tour for $30 USD that took us to see the dolphin bay, Zapatilla island and to snorkel in some other area.... More

Water taxis will take you there or an option is a tour that has snorkeling and beach time then lunch which is what I recommend. The beaches are beautiful. No vehicles and the water is bright blue out of a movie. Must see for Bocas.

We charted a private boat to take us from Isla Colon to Isla Zapatillas for the day. The sea was like glass on the ride over, and the day could not have been more perfect. The boat achored and let us swim and walk the island for the day and then returned us to Isla Colon in the later afternoon.... More

This place is only accessible by boat and this is best done as a day-long snorkelling tour. Tour companies take you to sloth island where there are indeed sloths that are usually easy to spot, there is also a shallow reef area where one can see starfish, and we were really lucky in the fact that we saw families of... I must start by saying that Cayo Zapatilla has the best water and beach in Bocas del Toro. The problem is that you can't access it by car but by boat only. I took a trip with Undersea Panama which cost about $40 per person including snorkel equipment and lunch. There are no restaurants on the island or place to... More

The only way to get here is through a guided boat tour - and we are glad that we did! This little island (really two of them) is truly postcard picture perfect! The white sands and most beautiful green water makes this beach probably the best in the area. The only negative part of this beach is that the tides/waves... More

We went on a tour from isla Colón to dolphin Bay, isla Bastimento where we reserved our lunch and then to Cayo Zapatilla. The weather wasn't great, it wasn't great the whole stay. The dolphines were ok. But when we crossed over to Zapatilla the captain said it will be rough. And so it was. To get out of the... More

Had planned to snorkel, but the currents were a bit tough around the further east island. Good birds, would have been a fun island to visit when the turtles are hatching
