Description:

We invites you to enjoy the beauty of the magical landscape of El Brujo...

We invites you to enjoy the beauty of the magical landscape of El Brujo Archaeological Complex and the testimony of the greatness of the Moche culture (200-800 AD). The Moche culture left a great architectural legacy as an expression of art, power and prestige of one of the biggest cultural developments of ancient Peru, comparable with the great civilizations of the world. We invite you to appreciate the richness of this society from the presente view. They left us a future ... The discovery of the Lady of Cao is proof of that.

A very interesting place to visit. An hour's drive from Trujillo - so allow at least half a day. The roads our guide took, were tarmac except for the last 500 metres, so the journey was quite smooth. The new dual carriageway North from Trujillo has speeded things up as well. Another in progress archeological site, with presumably lots of... More

Please to see Sra Del Cao the fist Governor Lady in the 200+ year d.c. The museum its excellent development by Wiese Foundation. I'm glad that the Huaqueros did not found this Huaca several years ago since original Ceramic and Gold pieces still pieces for the Moche and the Lambayeque cultures still captured.

This was our last tour in a 16 day tour through Peru. The story behind the "Senora de Cao" is intriguing, but the drive to get here is long and rough. The details of El Brujo look much like the other Moche sites. The museum here is excellent.

This pre-Inca site is quite a drive from Trujillo. We had a private driver and guide for this excursion, for 180 Soles for the day. The site is about as interesting and extensive as Huaca del Sol y la Luna, but El Brujo is much more distant, so I would visit it only if you have a day to spare.

We visited this site on our way to Trujillo by driving on dirt roads through miles of sugarcane fields, but it's worth the trip. The whole site is rather large with several pyramids and a museum where you can see the mummified Lady of Cao, a female Moche ruler.

What a find. Although it is a good distance (60kms) from Trujillo, it is well worth it. Quite a few pyramid structures but the main one adjacent to the museum contains lovely reliefs and also the tomb of the Senora de Cao. All of her funerary objects and her mummy are on display in the museum. A worthwhile visit

Isolated but worth to visit if you are interested in pre-Inca and especially the Moche culture. The museum has a well preserved mummy and jewelleries.

I must admit that of all the Moche sites I saw in Northern Peru, I appreciated this one the best due to location, location, location. It is perched on a hillside directly next to the ocean. Great site, great view and breeze. And as it was a bit warm, the breeze felt really good. It was a fascinating site where... More

From the top of the ruins you can see the sea on one side and to the other side are fields of sugar cane. We had a guide who explained everything to us, but each point of the pathway had signs in English as well as Spanish so you could do this tour on your own. The museum had beautiful... More
