We didn´t expect too much of it, but coming closer and closer we found out how interesting place we visited! Our guide (provided by the site for free – included in the entrance fee) explained to us everything he knew about the history and he...More

I kept my expectations reasonable on this hike. It was not a breathtaking site but had this unexpected sense of mystery. Once the tour guide started to explain the multiple layers of the ancient temple, it became clear that this was not an ordinary ancient...More

A group of us from the cruise ship met a woman at the port who offered to take us on a tour for a reasonable price. Her name was Gaby and she had official papers to be a guide. (She might work with a company...More

I loved this place, one of my favourite archaeological sites while visiting Peru. Not a lot of tourists and some really well preserved paintings with original colours. It's a "recent" finding so all is is pristine conditions. Definitely worth a visit while in Trujillo and...More

The Huaca de la luna was a very interesting visit, with some impressive views of the pyramid. The english speaking guide was excellent, and I think it's probably the best site in Trujillo area.

If you only have time for one ruin in Trujillo, skip Chan Chan and go here instead. It is from an older culture than Chan Chan and much better preserved. You will have a guide in English or Spanish to explain the history and excavation...More

This site has some beautifully painted walls and relief carvings that have been discovered and are on display at the original locations. The temple of the sun is not open to the public at this time but the temple of the moon is magnificent.
