The 'mother of all parks' in Baguio city, the summer capital of the Philippines, is a 32.84-hectare park designed by, and named after, American architect and urban planner Daniel Hudson Burnham, who also designed the original plan for Baguio City as well as Dewey Boulevard (now Roxas Boulevard) in Manila. The park has 12 main areas, the most popular of which are the Burnham Lagoon, a man-made lake with rowboats for hire; a children's playground; a skating rink; the Rose Garden and the Picnic Grove.

My wife and I went on our first date here 32 years ago, so it will always be special for us. Rent a small boat for an hour or so. Check out the vendors in the early evening. Did you know that Burnham, who designed Baguio, also designed Central Park in New York City?

I must say it is centrally located in Baguio and even if you dont intend to visit this park, you will still end up walking here, that its so hard to miss! This park never loses its magnet with tourists, those bike rentals, swan boat rides, famous strawberry taho (strawberry soya bean), street foods, street vendors, and cutie balloons!

A so-so park by western standards, crowded, but at least a spot of green in a busy city. It could use more benches to sit on. The orchidarium was disappointing, we were expecting an orchid garden but it was just a shop selling common tropical plants, most of which were not even orchids. There is also a rose garden but... The park is a walking distance from our hotel so we go there at nightime to avoid too much crowd. We visited before christmas and so it was so cold that time, it was fun because there was the big christmas tree, there were lights at the entrance gates, lights on the pine trees. Families including some native Ifugao encamped... More

-There are bike rentals which allow you to bike in a very short section only. Found it difficult to move when is crowded. -there are boating (forgot how much per boat. It depends on its type) that will allow you to paddle (or you can ask for someone, don't forget to give them tip) through the not so clean lake... More

WE were surprised how big this place was. As we were there on a weekend, we got to see all the families out and about. There is so much people watching to do when you are at this park. There is a big lake in the middle where you can rent a variety of boats.

No trip to baguio is ever complete without a visit to burnham park. We visited before the new year so as expected the park was crowded and parking was tough. Do try all the activities around the park especially the boat rides. I just hope the city govt do a better job in cleaning the place, in traffic and parking... More

If you have seen Burnham about twenty years ago, it has changed a lot to be a commercial park rather than a relaxing one. The car traffic around it is almost unbearable without traffic aides to assist. Half the park is crowded and a lo of vendors, rides agents are calling out aggressively to passing pedestrians. I am no sure... More

The highlight of our visit here was biking around the park. It was really fun. We also enjoyed watching groups doing Zumba. And oh, don't miss to try boating around the lake.
