Unlike some other reviews we met the bare minimum of 5 to take the trip. There were 3 in our group and fortunately another couple came through. They have lockers to secure your items while rafting and the only extra items you need are sunblock and secure water shoes. Like everyone else there was about an hour typical jeepney ride much on very busy hiways. Interesting perspective for me being from US.
Once there we were briefed again on what to do and don't.
They take care of pictures, so your electronics and phones aren't needed or allowed which makes perfect sense.
Our trip went well except we never capsized which would have been fun. The guide and staff couldn't have been nicer. We had a lunch stop and did some swimming/ floating nice to cool off as it was hot and humid like always. River was just medium.
Trip finished about 2:30 and another ride back, showers were outside and rustic but better than nothing. CD of photos Croc park and Fire show to end the day. We all enjoyed it, a nice reprieve from the city and definitely worth it. Kudos again to the fantastic staff!

Davao wildwater adventure is a must try when you go to Davao, specially if your group is looking for some adventure. We started our rafting journey at 11 pm there's along ride before we reach the river so you can recharge your strength and prepare your heart. So when we get their our guide taught us defensive swimming and how to rescue when someone from your group fall into the water. But don't worry if you don't know how to swim they have life vest and even in raft you can still float, trust me I know how it feels. It's a 3-4 hours long water journey good thing when we do the rafting it was July so the water is high because our tour guide said if we went their during summer the water is shallow so when we fall we can feel the rocks. We are like 6 groups and our group has the most youngster that time and never we know that our guide has a plan to capsize us, which is good because you'll never feel the thrill of water rafting if you didn't fall into the water, there's no memories you'll take forever. It was really great experience specially when your group fell in the water because of the excitement that you will feel. We pay like 1500 pesos and there's a lot of inclusion like free entrance in crocodile farm and after the raft you can watch the animal show during afternoon, free lunch, t-shirt, pictures and videos.

It was a Sunday and we were more than 20 for that day! A big group and it sounds really exciting. They were 6 rafts and we were the loudest out of the other groups. And it was a bad idea, I would tell you.
We started around 11am after the briefing and everything. Our main goal was avoiding to fall into the water then our 13 km water journey started smooth. Our guide taught us on how to rescue. Half of our group jumped into the water and we maneuvered to rescue them and vice versa. It was really informative and good thing we really listened carefully because he had some plans for us.
A heavy rain fell before lunch time and it was such an amazing experience. Water rafting in almost zero visibility and very cold rain. That makes more rapids. Before we had our lunch break, we had countless times that few people in my group fell into the river, including me. It was really funny but fun.
Then the capsize happened! I can't see anyone, all of us were in the water. I was in and out of the water. I felt those big rocks underneath and all I can hear was our guide yelling "defensive swimming". Good thing, we were good students and rescue each other. And we were all back in raft safe.
We were the only raft that capsized in the group. Because we were the loudest, our guide though that we were really there some adventure. For me, capsize is a must for a Wildwater Rafting. Capsize was part of this adventure, it is part of the package.
Thanks to our crazy, funny and handsome guide, Boyong, for taking us in the wild adventure. You're trully awesome and I will give you 5 stars. The package comes with Free Lunch, CD of our pictures and video, Tshirt and lots of freebies in Crocodile farm. In tagalog, sulit na sulit.
PS. You need to be physically, mentally and emotionally fit to have this activity. I wont recommend this to people with fear in water. I have a friend with that doesn't like to be in the water even on a pool. Good thing he missed to buy a plane ticket to Davao.

This is my third river rafting adventure, but Davao maybe has the longest time duration on the river. Our guide Jay-R is great. He never let us capsized even once, which is our request since this is the first time for my companions to try the river rafting. I saw in the video that some guides intentionally capsized the raft. Maybe I would try it sometime in the future!
Although the rapids were not that strong at that time, we still had so much fun, and lots of laughs. The guide encouraged us to swim on flat waters. He told us stories for us not to get bored when there were no rapids around. He acted so cool, even when all of us were screaming our lungs out.
Aside from the cd we got, which has all the great photos and videos, we also got a free t-shirt, tickets to the butterfly house and the fire dance show.
At first, I thought that 8:00am-4:30pm for a rafting adventure is quite long. But at the end of the day, the length is just quite right.
One negative thing I have to say is that the facilities at the crocodile park only has 2 shower rooms, and they are quite dirty. So do not expect so much as to getting a proper shower at the end of the adventure.

They'll tell you up to class 4, but even with the water up a little I didn't see anything above class 3 (from my prospective), would make a good family adventure ... good over all experience and would definitely recommend the trip if already in the area, and good value for the price if you've done this type of thing in the west. (take diving booties or river shoes) ... plenty of crocks to see at the park (where the retail shop is located, and about an 45min ride to the river)

Based off the crocodile farm, you take a 45-min ride to the jump off point for the wild water ride. It's been raining for 2 days in Davao so the water was unusually high, making the trip so much more bumpy and fun.
Our excellent guide, arnel, got us through despite the wild (really!) waters. We capsized once but it was just part of the fun as we were kept safe.
Do not take disabled people on this ride because although safe, it still requires some physicality.

I have been to maybe half a dozen white water rafting adventures around the world and this is by far the most fun and most reasonable I've experienced. 13km of river - raft thru the wild bits, hop off and drift down the river on the calm, get overturned on some (you can request not to). Stop and eat lunch midway.
The guides are very entertaining and there are photographers on kayaks that simply paddle ahead of you to catch all the Kodak moments. Pinoy guides are excellent in maneuvering the raft for the best action shots and poses too! Filipinos and their love of pictures make them naturally excel at this.
Thank you guide DIRK for a great time!
NOTE: This is an activity that requires reasonable fitness and dexterity. I would not recommend it for non-swimmers even though the guides will say "you'll float anyway" - but maybe they adjust the journey according to experience too. I personally did not find safety an issue and was comfortable with the safety level I experienced.

The best thing i liked about this experience is the river guides were so funny and energetic all throughout the trip. It won't be as fun without them. Respect!

Actual river rafting was fun even though waters were low due to the recent El Niño. Guides were helpful and did their best to ensure we had fun.
Bummer was the looong drive to and from the rafting starting and ending point from the city.

Though we tried this one during summer dry season, the rapids they say could be more challenging compared to what we experienced. But despite that we had a lot of fun. We bumped into some rocks, swam through the river, tackled some rapids and had fun.
The guides are nice also.
If you are living somewhere south of Davao(Matina, Mintal, Toril, Calinan), and wanted to try this one, you really have to go to downtown Davao(Crocodile park) early in the morning just to start your journey(orientation, gear fitting, jeepney ride to the actual site). Its not something you can just wait for the jeep to pick you up along the way. Even by ending the activity you still have to go back to crocodile park to pick up the items you left(if you have any).
Overall it was an awesome experience especially when the sun is all up and the skies are all blue, the river could be very be a sight in itself.

Anyone know the contact details for Davao Wildwater Adventure? I want to book for 3 Sept 2015, but can't find any contact info. The website included on TripAdvisor doesn't work. As I arrive in Davao on 2 Sept on the evening I don't think I will have time to book when there.

Hello! I'll be visiting Davao soon and wish to inquire if thru you tours could be arranged. My interest are to do river rafting, zip line and visit Maxima water park in Samal Island. If indeed this is possible? would you mention more or less the cost of these? Salamat!
