Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having a very rough ferry ride from Iloilo City to Bacolod, I stopped here and said my prayers.
Located across from the Plaza, it is very easy to locate. Decorations inside are simple, with several statues of saints plus historical plaques.

Nice place to seek guidance and enlightenment from our beloved God. The place is quite perfect for solemn events like weddings, baptismals and other religious events. I did a lot of pictorials here since I am a photographer. Likewise an iconic and historic place for Bacolod City. San Sebastian Cathedral is the icon of faith in Bacolod City. This is one of the biggest and busiest churches in Bacolod City. The San Sebastian Cathedral or commonly called "Cathedral" has 12noon weekday masses. On Sundays, mass starts from 5am. Continuous Mass starts from 5am until 10am. Then continuous mass in the afternoon starts from 2:30pm and ends with the last mass at 7:30PM.

It's a church. It has an interesting backstory, but it's nothing special.
If you want to go here as a massgoer, the place isn't airconditioned but seems amply ventilated. The altar doesn't have a crucifix at its center, and the place where you light candles wasn't maintained well.
If you want to be a true-blue tourist, it's not very conducive to picture-taking ala group, but it makes a pretty photo on its own. Some historical bits of it, particularly the old bells, aren't showcased well (cars were even parked next to it). There are rosaries and other church paraphernalia near the gate, though.

Me and my grandparents go to church here every Sunday. The interior design of the church is very captivating and the mosaics on the walls above each door are very beautiful. Make sure to wear proper attire when visiting and don't take pictures when masses are going on to respect both the church and the church goers.

One of the most notable landmarks in this city, this is definitely not hard to miss. The cathedral stands out at night time, where you can take really good photos.

This is a very important place of worship for the people of Bacolod. To understand the fervent devotion of the people, it is a good place to visit. In terms of architecture, the cathedral presents opportunities for photography. It is also a quiet place in between masses for reflection and prayer. Because it is beside the city plaza, you can also go people watching and buy food from food stalls.

I am a devout Catholic and being in a unfamiliar place to me, with a Cathedral, I get to have a visit in the place, because why not? It offers really a great deal of art, culture and masterpiece.

The cathedral is just a few steps away so I couldn't miss it. It was Palm Sunday, and surely coconut palm leaves were sold everywhere. I attended the afternoon mass because mornings were always times of "bed ridden" attitude. Arriving at five minutes to end the mass was somehow a sign of being stuck on the bed for nearly a day. Everybody at the back knew I was a late comer so, when the mass ended I forced myself to go in not minding of the people I bumped against. The next mass started immediately as soon as the other ended, meaning, exiting mass goers were just halfway going out and the next mass started soon. It was a fully packed attendance of devotees.
The cathedral was brightly lit and it took three minutes to fill up again the vacancies. Ah! Bacolodnons are really religious. Again, catholics overflowed.
Hungry as I was, Jollibee was there at a distance. I thought I've entered another church as devotees with their coco palms in hand looked like they were lining for the blessing with holy water.
The experience was memorable!

Napadaan lang ako doon kasi galing ako bongbongs, when i entered sa church na amazed talaga ako kasi ang daming nananampalataya sa santo nila, the surroundings are clean and green, masaya lang ako kasi naka visit ako sa church nila. That's it!

Does anyone know if the Church is open all day on Friday/weekdays or only during mass times? Thank you!
