i have heard a lot about Balay nga Bato from friends and family. When I finally went there, I was so pleased with what they have done to the place. They have preserved and documented it. I really hope that they would be able to sustain the initiative.

the house is really nice to see, they really maintain it well, even the owner are still living there, they even have a video to introduce the place, and serve a very good native chocolate, altho charge 150 for the tour.

The experience of visiting an old house was quite refreshing. Connecting with the past; and giving value to old, worn out, & outdated fixtures make one understand how time has evolved so fast. I'd recommend this trip to visitors, it is equally educational & enjoyable.

This is a must to see when in Iloilo. This will bring you back in time, P150 PP entrance that is all worth it with the experience and tour you get. They will serve a freshly made hot chocolate, very rich and tasty. The house has nostalgia with Spanish influenced furnishings and other memorabilia that will bring you back in... More

My cousins planned this visit to Balay na Bato as this was my first trip to Iloilo, my late father's birthplace. I was excited to discover local cultural and historical places and this was one of the highlights of my Iloilo adventure. The tour guide was knowledgeable and accessible - the house was well loved - and the buffet that... More

We were very lucky because we met the proprietor of the place during our visit. She actually lives there. At the start, we watched a interest short clip about the ancestral home. Then there was a short tour from a personnel, then we got to walk around on our own. The best part was when we had the tsokolate with... More

Blast from the past house, heritage Ilonggo cuisine, Old Spanish elite ambiance, antique pieces, enjoyable afternoon in genteel Iloilo. The tsokolate de baterol is heaven in a cup!

This is a very interesting restaurant I visited yesterday. It is located on the upper floor of an old colonial houses . There is traditional weaving performed downstairs. Many artefacts adorn the wall and objects from every day life through the the last century are dotted here and there. There is a short video on the history of the house... More

The place itself is a testament to Iloilo's rich history. I was travelling with a diverse group of people--some of them were vegetarians and some were picky eaters. Nonetheless, we loved each and every dish served to us, from the native vegetables to the steaming mug of cocoa (tablea).
