In order to remake the monument commemorating the 13 Hungarian generals killed in the Revolution of 1848, the local authorities tried to make a compromise. They allowed the location of a monument to be representative of the majority population of Arad - Romanians. The result is very bad. If you arrive by car or coach, be careful that there are few parking spaces, and these are for a fee.

it was named actually the fire fighter square; the water tower is close by, offering a beautiful panoramic view
the square is elegant, holding two complex statues, one representing Hungarian history and another one Romanian history; different moments, different architectural styles...
