History museum focusing on the history of pharmacy in Transylvania, in the original location of the most famous pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca. The rooms preserve their original functions: the Officina - where medicine was actually sold, the storage rooms, and the laboratory, reconstructed in the basement. There is also a more recent collection of hospital equipment.

We went here with our parents both of whom were pharmacists in India. I have grown up with afternoons spent in my mother's laboratory and a visit to this museum was like going back in time for both of us with antique equipments and jars.....More

We discovered it by accident while walking in the city center and we were delighted. The place is actually a former pharmacy - the oldest, dating back to ~1500. It keeps the actual rooms, you can find out what their ingredients and instruments were back...More

I went in on my 3rd attempt, the first two times the Museum was crowded with students. On the third visit I got in for free (seniors free on Thursdays which I hadn't previously known) and I was so delighted that I paid the rather...More

This place offers a lot of interesting information regarding the history of pharmacy, from substances (like bezoars, mummy powder or snake flesh) which were used to cook the medicines back in time to the laboratory which they re-created in the basement. I really enjoyed wandering...More

This is a nice little museum in town center, it's small so a visit shouldn't take longer than an hour, less for most which is about the perfect amount of time for a museum IMO. Really interesting stuff too. Only complaint is to be able...More

Museum's exposition is not that big, but very decent and interesting. Remember, that if You're about to take photos, museum's personnel is gonna charge You with an additional payment.

Though it's in the center of the city, it might be hard to notice. This place is full of history and information but also with mystery. It also has a shop for souvenirs and some are very cheap. The whole experience got me very excited....More

Small but very interesting museum, plenty of artefacts on display, a small "hands-on" display to guess the ingredients (by smell) - most labels/information written also in English. Centrally located and at at just over £1 entrance fee it was well worth it.
