This is the house where Matthias Corvinus was born on 23 February 1443. He was elected king of Hungary in 1458 and ruled until 1490. The house is one of the oldest buildings in Cluj-Napoca and it was built in the 15th century.

The birth place of Matthias Corvinus, the Renaissance King (1458-1490) of Hungary. Beautiful Baroque architecture, very well preserved.

The house itself it`s not impressive from the outside. Once entered you will find yourself in a different world. Travelling back in time, it will show you how once people lived and how a rulers house looked like.

Inside the building the Art and Design University has its theoretical courses so it's not one of those museum houses. However it has historical and artistic relevance in itself, as a building, being the oldest building in the city and allowing people to form an...More

This is the guesthouse in which Matei Corvin might have been born in 1443. In the last 150 years the house got a lot of attention and was heavily renovated and enhanced. So much of the stone work is recent. Right now the building functions...More
