We started the visit of Targu Mures with the great edifice of Culture Palace. The Art Art Nouveau edifice, designed in Secession style it is a emblematical piece for whole city. This building houses the Mureș County Library, the Mureș County Museum, and the State Philharmonic of Târgu Mureș. With a great and beautiful Concert Hall, with so many beautiful stained glass windows and many other important things this place is a jewel. Worth it so much to see it!

Genuinely one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. The stained glass artwork in the mirror hall is so unique and wonderful, the paintings exhibited are also definitely worth seeing. Would happily go there again. However, it does close rather early, so make sure to check the visiting hours.

We purchased reduced price tickets to be able to go in. Most of the main rooms are closed including the hall of mirrors. You can see the main entrance room and the concert hall. The area around the palace is also all being renovated with horrible smelling fumes going through the entrance area which can't be good for the building. An interesting place to see but maybe best to wait until it is all finished.

It's a must see in Tirgu Mures. You can admire its great architecture and the beautiful interiors. There are some temporary exhibitions you can visit there and a very nice concert hall. The stain glasses are unique. Worth stopping by.

One of the most impressive Secession building in Transylvania! Probably, the second major Secession architecture monument, after the Black Eagle palace in Oradea (designed by the same architects).
Built in 1907, to celebrate 40 years from the crowning ceremony of Ferenc Joseph emperor, it's amazing how the palace survived the communist era. It was typical for the communists to destroy all the monuments, buildings and inscriptions that may remind people about the monarchy.
However, in addition to the splendor of architecture, The Palace hosts many cultural events.
Came here for a Tonitza exhibition, which displayed rare Tonitza masterpieces from museums around the country and private collections.

I travelled to Targu Mures just to see this Palace and am so glad I did. The entrance hall is mind blowing in gold and rich colours. Up stairs is the Hall of Mirrors, which has some of the most stunning stained glass I have ever seen. The 19th centaury art collection fits the building perfectly and is very well curated. The palace includes a theatre and concert hall too, all in a very grand Art Nouveau or Art Deco style. A joy that a highly recommend.

First of all, Targu Mures is a city, where you can find the most art nouveau buildings in Romania. The Palace of Culture is a place full of art, it has one of the biggest organs in South-Eastern Europe, there is also a Mirrors Hall where you can wonder around. There are also a lot of concerts, it's definetely worth visiting one!
All in all a must visit in Targu Mures! You won't regret it!

The palace of Culture is a wonderful building in the typical transilvanian secessionist style. Inside it host 2 theaters the big and the little one; the both are very charming.
The mirror Hall is wonderful.
At the 3rd floor there are two art collection. The Romanian collection hold the most important painters.

We went there on Monday and it was closed, but the door was open so we walked inside so that maybe we'll see something. The security guard stopped us and said it's closed. But then he said something in Romanian which we didn't understand. He showed us that we must pay, so I gave him 10RON and thought that he'll give us change and a ticket. Instead he said "go...". I thought that he opened it for us. Instead he let us roam around a boring building with all the pretty rooms being locked. That's when we understood that he just stole our money. We are very upset and it's for people like this that this country suffers so much economic hardship.
