We enjoyed the afternoon walk in the fortress. Not much to visit inside but the preservation of buildings is extraordinary !

I would recommend touring the fortress mainly to understand the city better. We toured the fortress and felt the signs explaining the bastions and areas were well placed and were well written. The church in the fortress is closed and we were unable to see...More

It is an old fortress build 400 years ago and well maintained. Big place inside with grass and side walks where is nice to spend time with kids. It has a lot of stairs which kids love to climb on. Other things to visit inside.

Large fortress that is free to enter. There were a lot of renovations when we went, but the churches and Fortress walls were worth a look.

I mean yes, you get to Tg. Mures, is nice to stop by the Fortress, but isn't as amazing as other I've seen. Being part of the city - the Fortress lost the wow factor that it probably had once in the past.

The citadel area looks great after the restoration works. You can admire the old walls and bastions and the Reformed church as well. The park nearby is also nice. Worth stopping by.

After all the great places we've visited in Romania the Targu Mures fortress felt a little too clinical and cold in terms of restoration. Maybe we were just unlucky and choose the wrong time to visit. Compared with, say the fortress at Alba Iulia, it...More
