I can't imagine that anyone would be in Timisoara and not visit this Cathedral. It really is stunning. But despite how beautiful it is, it really does feel like a functioning place of worship rather than being primarily a tourist attraction. There is no charge, but try to leave a donation.

Although it isn't a very old cathedral, it was built in 1941, it is very pleasant to look at, especially its roof. Did you know that it has eleven towers?

There is a wheelchair access ramp on the left side of the church but it is quite steep. Once inside, the Cathedral is impressive although in need of a clean and polish. However, in some ways, the years of grime and darkness add to the atmosphere. It is certainly fascinating to watch, from the many seats around the outside, the day... More

The Orthodox Cathedral is a beauty with its colored tiles. It is also the symbol of Timisoara. It was built on hundreds of pillars stiffed on the swamp and has a traditional beautiful painting. It also host a museum of holy arts. Unfortunately the priest are somehow cold persons...

If your visiting Timisoara then you need to visit the Cathedral! Such an impressive building, both interior and exterior. It was a great experience entering the building, then sitting down and observing the local community. The building looks even more impressive at night (please refer to the images). Personally, I only spent 30 minutes here - but it is definitely... More

When in Timisoara, this is a must-see. It's very beautiful inside, quite nice from outside, there was no entrance-fee. Also it was ok to take pictures. Sadly no wedding or service by the time i was there, i reckon it would be much more interesting then!

This Cathedral is easy to find and impressive when you see. Is in the central square and from there you can go to different places in Timisoara. Inside is not so big but is peaceful and gorgeous. Is a must see! A Catedral é bem diferente por dentro e por fora, fica na praca central e é bem fácil de... More

This is a Christian Ortodox Church. It`s arhitecture is unique in this area. It is one of the symbols of Timisoara and of the 1989`s revolution.

The cathedral lies right by Timisoara's city centre. Very beautiful cathedral especially from the inside where it's made of Gold. We watched a prayer there and it was so spiritual. So basically there aren't many places to visit in Timisoara, but this Cathedral was an exception. It was beautiful to see.
