Bunker 42 offers a few tours in different languages every day and offers a great presentation of what life was like back in the days of the Cold War. The Bunker is 18 stories down and is in an area that can be a little difficult to find within the city. The tour lasts about an hour to ninety minutes... More

We were extremely lucky to happen across a tour in English commencing just as we arrived. There are only a couple each day. We were one of only two families on the tour. Firstly, let me point out that there is a kitsch restaurant on the premises which would probably be suit large group celebrations. We did not visit it... More

Not the easiest to find but worth it! The bunker is 18 floors deep so be prepared to walk up and down the stairs. The guide was friendly and had decent english skills. If you have some time left it's definitely worth seing!

Real history, under a fake apartment building and real church, 18 stories below. Fascinating, and interesting perspective as well. Frozen in time, the Cuban Missile crisis comes to life.

Firstly, there are 18 floors, so you will need to be able to walk up and down these steps!! I came here for the Bunker 42 tour which cost 2200 Rub per person (non Russian) or 1100 for Russian nationals. We went on the English tour as I don't speak Russian and I was initially impressed after the first room... More

Visited this anti nuclear museum which is interesting. Also did a little re-enacting of launching a missile. Of cos it's not real. Lol. One can opt to go all the way down by lift or stairs. I went by stairs just to have a better feel of how deep under the surface it was. Think it was around 300 steps... More

visiting the cold war museum was a nice experience where u can discover more about the details of the war and the weapons used there as well as discovering what the soviet build in order to protect themselves from a nuclear attack. if ur not in shape skip it, u have 18 floor to take twice :D

I thought this was one of the highlights of my trip to Moscow. Yes, there are lots of stairs but a lift is available if preferred. It is an underground tour in a number of tunnels. It is only an hour and a half and we had an English speaking guide. I lived through a lot of this history but... More
