Excellent Museum. Not crowded, nice staff, good cafe and great exhibits

Really interesting museum in a great location. We went on a Sunday, it was very quiet, there is free parking and at least on restaurant was open in the complex. The exhibits are great and you can download an free app for an audio guide (though the audio guide just repeats the info given next to the paintings. Its arranged over 3 floors with a lift. In the basement there is a nice café and by Moscow standards reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free for Russian pensioners, 300 rubles for adults

Located near Novospassky monastery and Paveletskaya subway station, this private collection focuses on socialist realist art of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods.
The museum is located on the grounds of a former XIXth century factory which takes up a city block and has recently been restaured.

A bit off the road but simply excellent

This is not an Institute but a real gem of a Museum!
Rather far away from metro or other public transportation but definitely worth a visit.
Lesser known but great paintings by the Russian and Soviet "realist" artists.
The venue itself is also interesting - an ancient textile mill turned to a business center.

something different and the local artist have a way to bring their emotion alive. The old factory made of red brick has a very distinctive look. you have to go pass the Moscow tourist side to see a wonderful place to visit.

Interesting building for a collection of Russian realist art from the 1920s to the 1900s
Mar 2016 • Couples
The museum is housed in an old red-brick factory in the south-east of Moscow. The smokestack outside and the cast-iron staircase inside are particularly impressive. The permanent collection is a matter of taste. We saw a temporary exhibit of pieces relating to cars, trains, planes and ships that we found more interesting. Women were shown piloting planes, parachute jumping, driving tractors, designing prototypes or working in factories.

Impressive collection of Soviet and post-Soviet "realistic" art
Dec 2014 • Couples
This new private museum holds a very impressive collection of socialist realism art of Soviet period and what it evolved into during the post-Soviet period. You won't find any avant-garde, abstract art or contemporary "installations" here. A must for anyone interested in XX century Russian art.
The museum is located on the grounds of a former factory of late XIX century taking up a whole city block and recently transformed into a nice business park with a lot of cafes etc.
Walking distance (10-15 min) from Paveletskaya station.
