This is close to where I live in walking distance. It is beautiful. But I am not sure it worth to assign a trip or not. All depend on your taste.

You turn around the corner and travel back in time. I'm still wondering how it miraculously survived. You won't find anything like that anywhere else in Moscow, I hope it will last for some time and won't be renovated too much.

Very old and for the most part unrestored church and complex just outside the Garden Ring and very near the Novospassky Convent, which is worth a visit as well, although the main bell tower is currently under restoration.

This is a very old terracotta church and building that at first glance looks like ruins. It does however give it a certain charm but do not go out of your way to visit it.

A fascinating place, especially in wintertime when it's covered by snow. You'll have the feeling to be back in the Middle Ages or at least a couple of centuries ago.

It is open (roughly) between 10am and 6pm all week. There are no guides or excursions, no museums, this is just open space. Only one building is open to see inside - the church of the Dormition (no photography allowed... More
