Ostankino TV tower - the highest point in Moscow. From viewing platforms open most brilliant panoramic views of the capital. From a vantage point 337 meters of the capital lies at a glance: Here Lomonosov Moscow State University University, Christ the Savior Cathedral, the Kremlin towers, the complex "Moscow City". Afternoon - the best time to make a photographic miniatures of the city, take a walk on the glass floor and try out our binoculars and telescopes. In the evening, you can leisurely look at the bizarre shapes of the city lights, sitting in a high-altitude restaurant "Seventh Heaven", which rotates around its axis. It is interesting to walk around the tower. In addition to the beautiful "Ostankino" Museum-Estate with park and ancient palaces, here it is worthy of attention "Exhibition of Economic Achievements." Ostankino Tower is among the ten highest free-standing buildings of the world. Today it is not only unique in the signal power radio and television transmitting station, and meteorological observatory, a giant lightning rod, and, of course, one of the most recognizable symbols of Moscow. From an architectural point of view it is a flower that grows out of the heavens. It is weighty "petals" on the ground, holding a thick but relatively easy "stem." This is a very bold in its design structure: the base of the tower - only 4.6 meters deep. At the same time its height - 540 meters. The real revolution in the construction of high-rise! At the time of opening in 1967 it was the tallest building in the world and held this position for 10 years. Climbing the legendary tower already made tens of millions of people.

We did it with some family members visiting Moscow. The views are amazing. I wouldn't recommend Ostankino TV Tower as one of the things one has to do on their first trip to Moscow, save that for some other time as it's a bit off...More

It was enough for me to see the TV Tower piercing the sky at my visit to the Cosmonautic Museum in the VDNKh Park. If both were competing for my attention in the sky, my choice goes to viewing the monument of a high rising...More

It's the biggest building in Europe, was the highest in the world. It's great to go there. Be prepared for same security procedures that will pay off. The view from the platform at 340 meters is tremendous. Use the bistro and the restaurant as well.

Terrifying view from about 500m. Not much to do iniside the tower but the view makes it one of the best places to visit in Moscow.

Located outwith the city centre and away from many of the must-see sights, this tower dominates the Moscow skyline, even though it is pencil thin. During our visit, our free time from the planned tour activities coincided with a very cloudy day that enveloped the...More
