We were not able to visit. We came twice to the Kremlin grounds and asked if we can visit the palace. When we actually bought the tickets and were inside they said we can only visit the churches in the grounds and not the palace. Most of it is outside as well and being so cold and travelling with a... More

The attraction itself is great, but the facilities are poor. We visited Grand Kremlin Palace in June 2016, on a hot fine day. At the security check point, we were told to leave our bags and water with the porter before we entered. So we did and visited the Armoury and the Cathedral Square. After walking for about 2 hours,... More

I only saw this building from the outside as it costs a fortune to enter unless you're travelling in a large group. It has amazing architecture on the outside and lovely colours.

I had several brief visits to Moscow previously while connecting to other destinations from the United States. I had seen the exterior of the palace could be seen on regular Kremlin Museum visits, but learned that group tours to the inside of the Kremlin Palace were possible to arrange. They were usually only part of very expensive guided tours of... More

The only way to think of the palace is to think of the White House. The president lives in some sections that are not open to the public. Security is tight. This palace had more gold and glitter and is a true palace. Magnificent painting and sculptures abound. No backpacks or bags allowed. No photographs allowed. Escorted by KGB (FSB)... More

I think previous posters are confused. The Great Kremlin Palace is a beautiful building within the Kremlin grounds. It is where the President is sworn into office. The palace was originally called the Great Nicholas Palace and was under construction for 12 years and it opened in 1851 in honor of the 25th anniversary of Nicholas I's coronation. It's central... Be prepared: no large bags, they will not get pass security check/scan which is a necessity for entry. The ticketing booth is far from the actual entrance checks and be prepared to join a large crowd jostling for the frequently few checkpoints that are open. However once you are through, the Trinity tower greets you. Then you walk past the... More

For the first - the ticket offices are 400 m from the entrance and it's a different building, when we came there no one was speaking english, but we bought the tickets, went back to the entrance, then the guard told us that we can't take a small backpack inside (even the square), we needed to go back to the...
