Located on the big Sovetskaya Square, and surrounded by several historical buildings, this Church displays its beaty. Inside all walls are completely covered with Icons, frescoes, and paintings. It requires a guide to understand the impressive meaning of this all.

Go inside to be transfixed by the beautiful frescoes. It's well worth having a guide to bring meaning to them all.

Though on a smaller scale than the Sistine Chapel, The Church Of Elijah the Prophet is covered in frescoes from floor to ceiling. Virtually everything else is gilded in gold, and best of all, the crowds are nowhere to be seen.

This is a very beautiful church both on the outside with its green onion domes and the inside is very elaborate. Inside there are icons and frescoes and make for some good picture taking opportunities.

This is a beautiful church situated on the edge of a major square, instantly recognisable being white-washed with dark green domes. The interior is stunning, with many icons (like many other Churches in Russia). Worth a visit if in town, most likely from a river...More
