Stoped in Novgorod overnight in my way to Moscow. Cute little town. The Kremlin here has an interesting history behind it. The grounds are large and clean. There is vendors outside for souvenirs and a nice cathedral in the square too.

You can't come to this town without coming to the Kremlin. Interesting group of buildings, nice park outside, walk over the bridge, good sculptures, it has it all. It isn't Moscow, but it doesn't have the crowds or queues either

2 days will give you ample time to see the sites and to relax. Always beneficial with a local guide, but not necessary. I cannot recommend any hotel. Enjoy your stay.
