The entrances to the church and the rooftop are separate, and you can visit one or both depending on your ticket. The church in its current form is a beautifully restored, colorful example of 18-19th century Russian religious architecture, with paintings, frescos, mosaics, stained glass windows and decorations all around. Surely worth a visit. The rooftop can be reached only... More

On a cold day in January we went to this cathedral. Snow was on the ground and the outside of the building was large but unremarkable as all building in this wonderful city is large. Entering was breath taking the gold and beautiful colours were something else. We then went to the top of the building. There are 211 steps... More

It is a place of preserved history, you get to climb the stairs that was there since maybe the church was built with tiny circular stairs. The view right at the top gives you a nice overall view of St.Petersburg and you won't regret after climbing up slightly breathelessly. Oh yes, you do have to pay for the entrance fee.

You do have to pay a small fee to get inside, but well worth it. Mouth dropping beauty. Has every kind of art from paintings, mosaics, floor to ceiling art.

Wonderful, colourful decoration on walls, ceilings etc as you expect of a Russian church. Many of the 'paintings' are actually mosaics. It is well worth a visit.

Plenty of gilt inside and icons. As with so many churches/cathedrals they are impressive. Quite crowded even in January so it must be bedlam during cruise season.

This is another wonderful building with an amazing history and beautiful interior decoration. You also climb the 260 steps to the roof for a great view of the city.

The cathedral and the area around is definitely one of the best attractions in St. Petersburg, the cathedral is huge and amazing city view can be made from the top of it, you can take great pics form the garden overlooking the river and close to it, the cathedral will appear wonderfully in the background

Awesome architecture, columns, sculptures, domes, marble walls. There is an opportunity to stroll through the colonnade to enjoy the beauty of St. Petersburg. Highly recommend to go there at night.
