You can buy your tickets on line for a price much less than any other city. Beware it's the small hall, which means it's not where the main theatre is. Check out the map. We felt we were the only tourists, and the acoustics are wonderful. White armchairs with red velvet, Russian champage in the interval, everyone friendly. Do go,... More

We came here to see the cello portion of the Tchaikovsky Competition. This was a fabulous evening of entertainment for an extremely low price. Listening to Haydn Concertos in these beautiful baroque interiors is what I live for.

It may be the oldest and best known concert-hall of the city and maybe even Russia. Former Grand Hall of the Noble People it remembers lots of famous musicians such as List and Berlioz, to mention just two. Here, being in the complete blockade during the war-time, the Leningrad Philarmonic under the baton of legendary genius Evgenii Mravinsky first performed the... This concert hall has the most wonderous acoustics you may dream of I can only think of the Wigmore Hall inn London if I want to pick a venue of similar attraction for chamber music. Artistic management is under the St. Petersburg Philarmonic, so you can rest assured about consistent musical excellence. I heard a performance of the Kremerata Baltica... More

This is definitely one of the most prestigious music venues in town, once - place of gathering of nobility, masquerades. In Soviet time - place where Dmitry Shostakovich had his first performances until late years. Style of the hall - late rococo of mid-nineteenth century. It is used mainly for chamber concerts and solo recitals.
