Can be visited if someone has spare time. But nothing great in comparison to pushkin and peterof. Long secret tunnel is great

Beautifully restored. Easily reached by bus or train from St. Petersburg. 40 minutes or so by bus. Gatchina Palace is less crowded than other palaces around St. Petersburg. Equally grand, but less known. The park is big and lovely.

get on the train at baltyskiy train station and enjoy the city of gatchina.it's not far. a nice day trip. the estate is still under reconstruction, but so much is already magnificently restored. one can also see some halls in the post world war II...More

The palace is nice and interesting but buildings and park seem to need much better maintenance. Some areas are almost abandoned but not in that nice romantic way. There were just lots of dirt, uncut grass and strong smell of a swamp. On the other...More

Every person who is visiting Saint P must visit Gatchina. Small but pretty town. A lot of parks,big Palace where Paul 1 had been living,a lot of ponds inside the park.
