I would recommend the journey we did but under no circumstances would I recommend the travel agent we booked with. This is Regent Holidays (regent-holidays.co.uk) based in Bristol in the UK. Following terrible service prior to our trip, an initial letter sent to their customer services in August 2016 was speedily acknowledged by the General Manager with a further reply... More

We were a little concerned about getting through the station at Beijing and finding the right train but it was surprisingly easy. Just showing passports and tickets at one of the outside windows (it didn't seem to matter which one - or perhaps we were just luck) then going through security. Once in the very grand station building display boards... More

Did the Trans Mongolian Moscow to Beijing via Mongolia over Christmas last year and would say was best trip of life (so far!). Absolutely amazing experience, was travelling with a friend from London to Australia who had the idea of going as far as possible just by trains. I went as far as Bangkok and my friend travelled on through... More

We took the Tsar's Gold private train from Beijing to Moscow in September 2016, choosing this time to see the autumn colours in Siberia. We booked through Trans-Siberian specialists Flower Travel in Melbourne Australia who also obtained the required visas. Their organisation was superb and everything happened as planned without a hitch. The train is not “luxurious” but quite comfortable,... More

The trip was just perfect. Though the tickets were confirmed shortly before the trip commenced (we paid months before the trip), our stay on the trains and in Mongolia was awesome, and I really appreciate the hospitality of our guide in Mongolia, Oyunchimeg. She is nice and friendly.

My father and I were on board the luxury private train Golden Eagle from Vladivostok to Moscow in September of 2016. As a self proclaimed foodie I was not expecting a 5-star dinning experience on board a train and was I wrong! Fine china and crystal, top shelf service and especially the high quality of food on board the Golden... More

Thank you Matt at Monkey Shrine for booking our trip for us. We spent 23 days getting from St Petersburg to Beijinj, stopping at Suzdal, (Vladimir) Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Ulan Ude and Ulaanbaatar and we found it a great adventure and we throughly enjoyed our trip. Every thing went to schedule, all the hotels were in the central of town, which... More

This is a 8961 km, 6 day trip from Beijing to Moscow. This is not for the faint hearted. This train is a computer train for Russians and Chinese residents to travel between cities, not a luxury train or First Class Train as we had expected. Our trip was made bearable by the other like wise travel companions, 3 other... More

First of all, we will be very thankful to Mr. Andrei Bezsudov for all the help. He was there every time we needed some help. Whenever we had some issues, He, himself come and solve it. You do not get this kind of service from any other tour agent. Everything was up to date and never had a chance to... More

We took above train and bought 1st class tickets but really not worth it. Well Moscow station was typical of any city railway station quite dirty, however we boarded our so called first lass carriage and were quite shocked at how filthy it was, there was a dirty shower attached to our cabin which had not been cleaned for sometime,...
