Well worth the time and effort to experience this place. Wear sturdy shoes. The overlook is spectacular on clear days.

We got a taxi up to the cablecar, its a bit of walk from the main road. After we'd made arrangements for the taxi to return and pick us up, we found out that on Mondays the cablecar doesn't start until 1600! Slightly annoying, particularly...More

The best view of Lake Baikal is from the top of the mountain. For only R300 Ruble you can buy a return ticket or one way and walk up or down. Don't forget to take a ribbon to tie at the top. There are only...More

Caught the Cableway up and down to a place where it was an easy walk to a view point overlooking Lake Baikal. The view wasn't that spectacular.

We had a pretty short visit "one day" too see the Baikal, and too see such a great lake such as Baikal does not really make sense from the shoreline, We would like to go even higher but I think this is pretty much as...More

Even if you do not intend to down-hill skiing, I definitely recommend to take the chair-lift to enjoy the stunning view of the area where Angara river meets frozen Lake Baikal. We were there in February and it was too cold. Yet, we took the...More
