You can take a bus and ferry at the jetty (nearest Wanshengwei train station line 8 &4 ) if you are coming from, the train and try to avoid weekends as it is crowded with domestic tourists. Can be a nice walk around if you have half a day free.

Has a museum aspect to it but really requires a guide or Chinese speaker/translator to get a lot out of it. Confusing layout. Has several vendors of cheap souvenirs on site. Very small military museum attached.

This is not an elaborate site but well-kept and will be interesting to all who have some knowledge of modern Chinese history (i.e. past century).

The Academy boasts an impressive listing of 20th Century Chinese leaders, both Republican and Communist. The history of this place is a quick study in the similarities of both as well as the future differences. A visit is recommended for history enthusiasts as others will be bored.

The tourist bus dropped us off at the gate. We still had to walk a few minutes to the site. It brought us back in time. Everything there was so simple and plain, even the Premier and Principal’s office. The difference was that their room had table cloths on their tables and a flower vase with flowers. This was a... I'm a big fan of Republic of China. As I'm reading Chiang Kaishek's biography, it's very impressive to go to one of the most important places he used to work. The museum has exhibitions about how influential the academy was to China during the republic era and some related wars that its alumni fought. There were also rooms that show... More

As people have mentioned before, this place was a joint effort by, both the nationalist and communist to train. Although they did go their own ways, in the end. The exhibition of pictures, and training rooms, barracks with English descriptions, were a great help to us foreigners, with the history of all the people who past through those doors, A... More
