This lovely, tree-lined neighborhood bordering the Pearl River was once home to foreign merchants, and today is a laid-back area ideal for strolling or stopping for a meal or cup of tea.

Came here as recommended but it is not that interesting comparing with the other attractions. If you have free time then you can visit here, but I wouldn't suggest if you have tight schedule.

When I went it was chucking down with rain so I had the main boulevard mostly to myself and it lent the area an incredibly atmospheric quality. There is some lovely colonial architecture and impressive sculptures, as well as plenty of greenery.

Many shops near the White Swan Hotel on Shamian Island. Don't purchase at the shops inside the hotel, as the prices are outrageous.
