Lots of food

I tried my very first Chinese traditional foods here. Really want to come back to enjoy the things there once again.

Though it was crowded and at night very crowded, its a must try and experience. Lots to eat do and see. Spent a half day or night doing this area.

Same as every walking street in china, nothing special to see. It is near the 4 lakes so i went there but no need to go there on purpose except you need to buy some clothes.

My second visit here. Loads of small streets with small eateries which I prefer over the main strip. Have a wonder down the back streets for more local eateries and cheaper snacks. Easily spend a few hours here and close to other attractions .

We went to the Shang Shui Mei Shi Jie, which turned out to be a food court with a lot of vendors serving food that is eaten on benches or tables in front of the establishments. If this is what you're looking for, then have at it. We were looking for a sit down place and found it on the... More

Was sometime hard to understand the menu in restaurants and to communicate with staff. Was easy to find though.

Very busy mall with something happening at every turn - robots at the front of a restaurant, heady chilli and garlic aromas from the staff making Guilin hot sauce, men pounding nuts into a sweet, market stalls and restaurants and bars. Great for people watching in the evening. Don't go before 10am as not much is open.

This is primarily a designated, vehicles free, pedestrian only street with shops on both side. Wide and comfortable to meander around and there are public seats to rest your tired body. Compared to Yangshuo West Street, there are comparatively less eating place here but still when you explore the side street, you may still find some hidden gem here and... More

A very lively, fun spot to wander, try local foods and mix with the locals. Many of the side streets have market stalls for faux antiques and souvenirs and others have street food vendors and small shops. Wherever you wander, there's something to see and you'll get some great food, although don't count on anybody speaking English or the menus... More

You can not be in Guilin, without going in this area. Lots of nice restaurants, bars and shops. Most are also without cars and mopeds.
