It's easily to get here. The tower is situated in the center of city, near the Muslim Quarter and Bell Tower. Looks better in the evening with illumination, but nothing special. You must buy ticket for visiting.

Arrived just in time for the performance. Lovely to hear the combination of traditional chinese instruments played together. We arrived just in time so had to stand. Thank goodness for long arms and iPhone camera. If you want to sit close grab a seat after they finish and wait for next performance. Don't ask how long, depends on season and... More

We were in the city, working through our list of places to see. This was on our map and was fun to read about the different drums. (Travelled in Oct 2012, Yes, I am lazy at doing reviews, but you nagged me.)

Bell tower and drum tower are roughly a 200 meters away. Both gives a spectacular view in the evening. My favourite place to visit. If you have just one day in Xian. Then go to the terracotta warriors in the morning. And in the evening go to bell tower/drum tower/ Muslim Food street.

Another must-see place if you are into local culture and architecture! We saw a short musical show as well which I found very interesting, especially the drums and other musical instruments they play

Interesting history and architecture, plus great views. They have performances on traditional Chinese instruments which is well worth seeing too. There's a small shop inside, too. Make sure you look up, there are details everywhere.

Good place to learn ancient Chinese history, cultural and architecture. There is a lot of shops and restaurant near by. A good place to visit before the end of day.
