This tower is located very near to the Muslim food street. It's very colorful during the night time.

The more I visit these towers, to more I believe there is not really nothing special about them, unless you are a History lover. It is just a tower with drums. It is not very high so you cannot see that much of the city. The lights are nice, so it is a cool area to be at night.

Only took pics from the outside during the day. Still amazing building. You can imagine the drums being beat for dusk,,,and the bell at the Bell Tower rang for dawn. it is lit up at night was is still amazing. It is situated very near the Food market.

Easily accessible if you're in the city center. Good example of the typical Chinese tower architecture.

You need to be close up to appreciate the size of the drums. There is a huge one on the top floor. Accessed by stairs. There is an exhibition of chinese furniture which is quite interesting. We couldn't see any information about times to hear the drums played. Again beautifully lit at night. If I had to choose one to... More

I saw 12 small drums in the front (sought) and another 12 in the back (north) of the drum tower. They stand for the Twenty-four Solar Terms which is a kind of weather calendar created by the Chinese ancients in order to guide the agricultural production. There was a big drum on the West side and another big one on... More

We only saw it from outside at night on our way to Muslim Quarter and it was still worth it. The lighting done made the place come alive, look like a palace. Also the sqaure around the place was lively with live music performance and people with huge telescope for seeing the moon up close.

The view from there is already amazing, but the architecture of tower and the sound of the drums, played by the musician, is just unbelievable. Be sure to be there or to wait to hear them, if I remember good, they are playing every 30mns or an hour. A must see.

Like the Bell Tower, i think this place is nicer at night when it's lit up. If u had to chose just 1 tower to go up, then choose this. However, it's not a must-do for me.

This, along with the bell tower down the street, are two very old monuments which are beautifully lit up at night. You can climb up to higher floors for a very good view of downtown Xi'an. Inside there's an exhibit of old furniture, but labeled only in Chinese.
