The ancient town offers a vintage style, traditional outlook of Kunming. Lots of shops and restaurants to get souvenirs and food. A lot of local activity going on, i.e. old folks card playing and singing gatherings. You can easily spend a couple of hours here...More

Guandu Ancient City is just across the street from Kunming Museum. The place is very big and basically very touristy and also full of locals. You get to try a lot of their street eats - no idea what's what, but everywhere was basically packed....More

In south Kunming across from new Provincial Museum. Very touristy with lots of places to shop local souvenirs and sample local and other dishes. Try the Burmese restaurant in the back for authentic, tasty Burmese fare. Some local museums, but did not visit them.
