Worth a trip to this museum to look at the history of Hangzhou silk and the famous Silk Road. Very interesting articles of clothing. Very modern museum

Though not part of the silk road, this is nevertheless where most of the silk and weavings in China came from. Great place to learn a bout silk farming and weaving... amazing how they used complicated machines to put together the fabrics

Our Group were amazed at he beautiful silk embroidery here & such fine work done by the embroiderers. Most us bought samples.

buy your self a silk doona, just wonderful, Then go shopping at their upstairs department stall. socks, made of silk, underwear, pyjamma and so much more scarves just wonderful.

There was so much to learn and see. The guide was very good but we didn't have much time. It was interesting and enjoyable but nothing that stuck out as a must go.
