So I was just walking around and I had no idea when I entered this place and it turned out surprisingly delightful for a hot sunny day. Not much remarkable sites, just some refreshing green land and countless tress....perfect for a spring walk.

Seemed that very easy to get big open-space greenie area in Hangzhou. The great West Lake, tea plantation everywhere and also spacious Botanical Garden. Fresh air, beautiful garden, big lake inside, various species....make us get closer to nature. It was a bit 'dull' during winter,...More

Great place for early morning walks. Excellent value since you can get in free before 7am. I wouldn't pay to get in here though. The plants aren't particularly spectacular.. been to better gardens before.

Beautiful Gardens, with magnificent Lake. We walked around these gardens then cruised across to the other side of the Lake. The day was very enjoyable, but overcast and chilly. The scenery is still quite lovely, Temples, pagodas, on the distant hills, boats on the lake,...More

walked miles to get to this botanic garden, but was very dissapointed - unless we missed the point, it seemed to be very dull and not like a western botanic garden at all!

The 10RMB entrance fee is worth the large garden that awaits you. We went to view the famous plum blossoms and wandered around the garden for a few hours enjoying the peace and quite. It was a fun Sunday afternoon activity.

We haven't visited in winter, but our daughter-in-law says it could be quite cold, with possible snow. The botanical garden will not be crowded, and it might be quite beautiful in winter, but the best time would be Spring... More

We used a taxi. Taxis are really cheap in Hangzhou. Geographically, it is on the west side of the West lake (Hangzhou) .
