Got my much needed Zen moments in the park

We stayed at Premier Hotel Nakajima Park overlooking the park. It was beautiful and mesmerising to sit and watch the snow fall. Walking across the park to the station was a wonderful experience. We had snowball fights, made snow angels and built a snowman. Friendly staff. The only downside was some visitors smoked on a non-smoking floor.

The park is so quiet and beautiful I was there during the winter. It was like heaven, frozen lake and snows covering the park like creams on the trees. Amazing scenery.

Beautiful place to walk around when blanketed with snow, especially at night. There's a frozen lake, a symphony hall, a little observatory, a famous 115 yr. old victorian-style, former hotel, and lots of different paths. The main paths are well-trodden and hard so good for pulling the wee ones along in the sled. Toilets are clean but bring your own... More

Really enjoyed our time in the park. The pond is beautiful. Loved the little tea house and went inside the (out of the place looking) hotel. The early fall breeze is dry and crisp and the surroundings is calming. Totally worth the visit after a very busy week.

We had a lovely morning at Nakajima Park! Exited subway at Horohirabashi, then walked north through the park. Using this route, we were able to keep our five year old engaged through three shrine visits with the promise of "kid fun" ahead. Once we left the shrines, it took less than ten minutes to walk to the boating pond, where... More

Well landscaped park with ponds, ducks and wooden benches. The Sapporo Concert Hall/Kitara is within the park grounds. So is the Sapporo Observatory. The historical building Hoheikan which the Emperor Meiji stayed in during a visit, was relocated to the Park. Also relocated to the Park is the Hasso-an which is a historical tea house, donated to the city and... More

Good place to walk and rest. The surrounding is big and lots of goose walking pass. But there is also a lot of crow flying near your head.

Stayed near the park and only thought of visiting on the second last day. It has got some historic buildings, a concert hall and a muppets theatre. There are plenty of walking tracks and a lake to row on. Atmosphere was relaxing.

Nice place for an early evening walk. Biggest crows we've ever seen and keep a weather eye on the passing cyclists. If you fancy doing a bit of rowing on the lake, go a bit earlier. Nicely maintained and beautifully clean but wouldn't expect anything else in Japan.

Plenty of shade and benches for resting. Can also go canoeing in the large pond or get ice cream at a cafe/small restaurant next to the water.
