Fresh Seafood for Breakfast!
Feb 2020
Lots of Fresh Seafood!

a Lot cleaner than tsukiji fish market and not too crowded. Since we came in winter, theres lots of crabs on bargain and cooked on the spot.

Happy we went; keep expectations low
Sep 2020 • Couples
Fish market, similar to Tsukiji in Tokyo, but smaller. We were happy we went, but were not overly impressed with the quality of oysters or shrimp sashimi that we enjoyed.

The market is a fun atmosphere and is worth a visit!

Breakfast
Feb 2020
This place it touristic and expensive. However this is the only market in town that opens up at 6:00 AM giving you the possibility to eat breakfast; so, unless your idea of a morning meal exclusively encompasses brioches, milk and coffee or bacon and scrambled eggs, you will find some incredibly fresh fish to eat and a nice and hot miso soup. It is true that you see crabs (kanì) everywhere but to not forget that one of the best specialties in Hokkaido is sea urchin (Unì) and you really might want to give them a try here, in Sapporo. I suggest breakfast because you will only run into Japanese people and will probably avoid the tourist turmoil and mess.

Fresh seafood
Feb 2020 • Friends
Loads of fresh seafood that you can eat on the spot. We had oysters the size of our face and clams that were palm size.

Super great food

Fresh but price is expensive by local standard
Dec 2019 • Solo
The sushi is fresh at Nijo market, however the price is expensive by local standard properly because it is a tourist attraction spot. You can get better priced sushi in other restaurants in Sapporo. Chitose Airport (domestic terminal after immigration) standing sushi bar is serving fresh sushi at half the price, I ate 12 pieces of sushi (uni, scallop, botan prawn etc) for only 6250Yen.

Small compared to those elsewhere
Oct 2019
This fish market was quite disappointing, as it is very small when compared to other fish markets in Japan like in Tokyo and Kyoto. Not really worth a visit, unless you just want to buy some seafood.

値段が異常に高い!The price is Soooo expensive!!!!
Nov 2019 • Family
全ての商品が異常に割高で、東京の高級スーパーよりも高いと感じた。
空港の方が安く海鮮を楽しめる。
2度と行かない。

All seafoods are too expensive to believe the price.
The price in Shin-Chitose airport is cheaper than this market.
I will never visit again and never recommend my friends.

Lunch at Nino Fish Market
Sep 2019
The Fish market was small, compact and well stocked. The prized item was the giant snow crabs. A reasonable portion will set you back £70. Lots of reasonably prized Sushi bars and noodle houses. Really enjoyed a lovely lunch.

Pretty expensive for what you get at the market, was expecting there to be more selection and the prices to be a bit cheaper

Shops selling expensive seafood
Sep 2019
Comprises shops selling fresh and dried seafood as well as Japanese snacks and fruits. Nothing is cheap as these are mainly premium foodstuffs. Ate at 1 of the food stalls there. Pictures in the menu showed attractive large portions but the actual bowls when served are pathetically small with a lot of rice stuffed below and covered with a thin layer of seafood. Expensive for the prices charged. You are better off at any of Sapporo city restaurants. Not a wholesale seafood market like the one in Tokyo. A tourist trap!
